On our flight from Bangalore to Germany 

Suddenly the aircraft took a long deroute of over 40 minutes, making us wonder why?

Gurudev was in deep mediation at that time, but suddenly He got up and went straight to the cockpit (by requesting the crew). The pilot informed Gurudev that the GPS signal was lost and it was showing wrong directions. Infact, the GPS system was hacked and the airplane was being directed towards the Russia Ukraine war zone.

 They were doing their best to figure out some solution and were also in touch with other airlines.

Gurudev asked them to show the screen of the GPS and the moment Gurudev saw the screen it started aligning. Taking our aircraft back on our route. In the images shared one can clearly see the de route taken by the aircraft. 

We realised we are all safe in the hands of our beloved Master.

Guru Story at Sangri-La, Dubai DEC 23

Many devotees were waiting in a que outside the hotel waiting for Gurudev's Darshan as He returns from COP28 session. Looking at the queue, an Iranian man passing by (also staying in the same hotel), asked a devotee: "is there a wedding happening?" Devotee replied: "No, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is coming"

He walked ahead saying "Oh, alright" then saw some devotees ahead in the same line wearing t-shirts promoting the 8th Dec event with a big photo of Gurudev.

 He stopped and asked "who is He?" 

Devotee: "there's a grand meditation event happening with Gurudev, you have to come, our motto is One world one family"

Man: "wow can I take picture?", He was in hurry to go somewhere else urgently but still he just stood there and joined the darshan line and started saying "this was the worst & most stressful day of my life, (tears started rolling down his eyes) I was searching for a window, if there was no glass in this hotel I would have jumped from here" 

Devotee: "don't worry, you're being taken care of by divine, just wait here and meet Gurudev"

Just few minutes after that Gurudev arrived and started giving Darshan to all, Gurudev held his hand, he bowed and got Gurudev's blessings & he walked with rain of tears to his kids & wife. 

Just in wonder of how an Iranian working in the US happened to be in Dubai at the time of Gurudev's visit and in the same hotel, and happened to pass by a Darshan line on a day when he wanted to end his life, and without knowing anything about Gurudev he just joined the line and got to meet Gurudev and felt light. The devotees standing outside, wearing the shirts, everything must be His divine plan

There is more and enough negativity in the world. Don't add fuel into the negativity.

We should not shy away from negativity and stay isolated. Be like a doctor. He stays in midst people who are sick but doesn't get sick.

It is easy to label people that they are negative and stay in isolation. That shouldn't happen. Let's go in midst of people who are not keeping well, depressed or negative and not get affected by it at the same time.

Send positive message in social media. Sending negativity it is not going to help you or anybody.

Generally we talk about our problems to everybody. We eternalize and generalize our problems. ( Everybody is like that.. I always makes mistakes etc. )

Practical steps

1. Spread positive message

2. Stop eternalize problems

3. When someone is not happy, it with a long face. Dont just walk past. Stop. Take couple of minutes to talk to them, it can make a difference

4. Sing and dance.

5. Meditate. This is the first one

Meditation is the real password for happy life. Not just happy. Password for happy and healthy life.

2. Disease free body

3. Quiver free breath

4. Confusion free mind

5. Inhibition free intellect

6. Trauma free memory

7. Sorrow free soul

EVOLUTION: NOT PART OF THE SELF

Are you evolving? If you are evolving, you are not in the Self. And you are not out of the Self, because nothing can exist out of the Self. (Laughter)

Broadly they can be put in these 5 catagories.

There are six distortions that do not exist in the Self.

1. Expansion -- Prasarana. Expansion indicates there is already something into which something expands. That which expands cannot be the basis for expansion.

2. Contraction -- Akunchana. Contraction means something shrinks from something else. Self does not withdraw or shrink from anything, so contraction does not exist in the Self.

3. Evolution -- Vriddhi. Evolution is becoming something which it is not already. Self is the same, so it cannot evolve.

4. Decay -- Kshaya. There is no devolution or decay in the Self. It doesn't get old or stale. That's why, when you are close to your Self, you don't feel that you are aging.

5. Beginning -- Anaadi. Self has no beginning. If God has a beginning, then He is no God.

6. Lack -- Abhava. Self has no lack. Whatever lacks something is not complete. Self does not lack anything, it is complete. Lack indicates existence of something outside itself. That doesn't exist for the Self. So if you feel you have not grown at all, don't worry, you are close to the Self. (Laughter)

When your mind is with the Self, then you don't worry about evolution. If you are thinking about evolving, then you are stuck in the mind. And mind is part of the matter, and matter evolves and decays.

And that is how the experience of contraction and expansion is all play and display of the mind. Mind expands and contracts. When it expands, it comes close to the truth, which has no expansion.

विकास आत्मा का अंश नहीं 

क्या आप विकास कर रहे है? यदि आप विकसित हो रहे है, तो आप आत्मा में नहीं है। लेकिन आप आत्मा के बहार भी नहीं है , क्योकि आत्मा के बहार कुछ हो ही नहीं सकता। (हंसी)

६ विकृतिया है जो आत्मा में नहीं होती:

१. प्रसारण - प्रसारण का अर्थ है की कुछ है जिसमे फैल सकते है। जो फैलता है वह प्रसारण का आधार नहीं हो सकता।

२ आकुंचन - आकुंचन मतलब कुछ सिकुड़ता है किसी दूसरी चीज से। आत्मा किसी से सिकुड़ती नहीं है, इसलिए आकुंचन का अस्तित्व आत्मा में नहीं है।

३ वृद्धि- वृद्धि कुछ बनने की प्रक्रिया है जिसका अस्तित्व अभी नहीं है। आत्मा सदैव अमां है , इसलिए इसमें वृद्धि नहीं हो सकती।

४ क्षय - आत्मा में कोई क्षय या अवनति नहीं होती, यह कभी पुरानी या बासी नहीं होती। इसलिए , जब आप आत्मा के समीप होते है तो उम्र के बढ़ने को महसूस नहीं करते।

५ अनादि - आत्मा का कोई आदि नहीं है। यदि ईश्वर का कोई आदि है, कोई शुरुआत , तो वे ईश्वर नहीं है।

६ अभाव- आत्मा में कोई अभाव नहीं। जिसमे भी कुछ अभाव हो, तो वह पूर्ण नहीं। आत्मा में किसी भी चीज का अभाव नहीं है- वह पूर्ण है। अभाव सूचित करता है अपने से बाहर किसी का अस्तित्व - यह आत्मा में सम्भव नहीं।

यदि आपको लगता है आपका थोड़ा भी विकास नहीं हुआ है , तो चिंता मत कीजिए - आप आत्मा के समीप है।

जब आपका मन आत्मा के साथ है , तो आप वृद्धि की चिंता नहीं करते। यदि आप अपने विकास की सोच रहे है, तो आप मन में फंसे हुए है। मन भौतिकता का अंश है और भौतिक पदार्थो का विकास और क्षय होता है।

तो आकुंचन और प्रसारण का अनुभव मन ही का खेल और प्रदर्शन है। मन का विस्तार और आकुंचन होता है। जब मन विस्तृत होता है तो सत्य के समीप जाता है, जिसका कोई विस्तार नहीं।

क्या अब भी आप विकास कर रहे है?

VARIETIES OF SPIRIT

Why should you think God is only one? Why can't He also be many? If He has made man in His own image, what image is He? An African, a Mongolian, a Caucasian, a Japanese, a Filipino? Why are there so many types of man, and so many varieties of things?

There is not just one type of tree, not just one type of snake, cloud, mosquito or vegetable - there is not just one type of anything, so why should God be only one? How could this consciousness that manifested this whole creation and loves variety, be monotonous? God seems to love different varieties. He must be of infinite variety Himself. God can manifest in many names, forms and varieties.

Some schools of thought may not give God the freedom to appear in His many forms. They want Him in one uniform!

You change your appearance to suit the occasion. When such is the case, how could you think there is no variety in the Spirit. The ancient people knew this and that's why they cognized the Divinity as infinite qualities and forms. The Spirit is not dull and boring. The Spirit which is the basis of creation is dynamic and ever changing. God is not only one, but is many!!!

When you accept the variety of Divinity you cease to be a fanatic or a fundamentalist.

चेतना के विभिन्न रूप

तुम ऐसा क्यों सोचते हो कि ईश्वर एक ही है ?ईश्वर भी अनेक क्यों नहीं हो सकते? यदि ईश्वर ने मनुष्य को एपीआई ही छवि के अनुसार बनाया है, तो उनकी छवि क्या है? अफ़्रीकी, मंगोलियन , कलिफोर्नियन, जापानी या फिलिपिनो - मनुष्य इतने प्रकार के क्यों है?

वस्तुओ कि इतनी विविधताएँ क्यों? वृक्ष सिर्फ एक प्रकार का नहीं होता सांप, बादल, मच्छर या सब्जी सिर्फ एक प्रकार के नहीं।कुछ भी सिर्फ एक प्रकार का नहीं है, तो फिर केवल ईश्वर को ही एक क्यों होना चाहिए? जिस चेतना ने इस सम्पूर्ण सृष्टि का प्रकटीकरण किया है और जो विविधता कि प्रेमी है , वह चेतना नीरस कैसे हो सकती है? ईश्वर को विविधता पसंद है, तो वे भी आवश्य ही अनंत प्रकार के होंगे।

ईश्वर की अभिव्यक्ति अनेक नाम, रूप और प्रकार से है।

कुछ विचार धारा के व्यक्ति ईश्वर को अनेक विभिन्न रूपों में प्रकट होने की स्वतंत्रता नहीं देते। वे उन्हें एक ही रूप- 'वर्दी' में चाहते है।

अवसर के अनुसार तुम अपने रूप को बदलते हो, है न? तो तुम कैसे सोच सकते हो की आत्मा में कोई विविधता नहीं? हमारे पूर्वज इस बात को जानते थे और इसलिए उन्होंने दिव्यता के अनंत गुणों व रूपों का ज्ञान कराया। आत्मा नीरस और उबाऊ नहीं है। चेतना - जो इस सृष्टि का आधार है, गतिमान और परिवर्तनशील है। ईश्वर एक ही नहीं, अनेक है।

जब तुम दिव्यता की विविधता को स्वीकार करते हो, तब तुम कटटर और रूढ़िवादी नहीं रह जाते।

PROBLEM

Guruji says: There is no problem that cannot be solved!!!

Someone says: I have a few I can give you. (Laughter)

Guruji says: When you have a problem and you think it cannot be solved, then you have accepted it then it is no longer a problem; it is a fact.

For example: Suppose you think it is a problem that the ocean in Norway is too cold. Obviously, you cannot heat the ocean. If it cannot be solved, you accept it and it's no longer a problem. Only when you are searching for a solution is there a problem and so there is no problem that cannot be solved. (Laughter)

The moment you realize there is no solution, a problem ceases to be a problem.

The solution is the tail of every problem.

Solutions come to you when :-

You are calm and collected 

You use intelligence

You are not lethargic but active 

You have strong faith in Divine law

Kai says: If you don't want any problems, you can have a Guru.

Sheila says: If you want all the problems of all the people, become a Guru.

Tom says: Focusing on the problem alone, you cannot solve it. But, when you go step up to your real need, your real goal, to the higher Self, you find many solutions

समस्या की पूंछ

श्री श्री: ऐसी कोई समस्या नहीं है जिसका समाधान नहीं हो सकता। 

दर्शक: मेरे पास कुछ है जो मैं आपको दे सकता हूँ। (हंसी) 

श्री श्री: जब कोई समस्या है और तुम सोचते हो उसका कोई समाधान नहीं है, तुममे उसे स्वीकार कर लिया। तब वह समस्या नहीं रही, यथार्थ बन गई।

उदाहरण के लिए , तुमको यह समस्या लगती है की नॉर्वे का समुद्र बहुत ठंडा है। निश्चिय ही तुम समुद्र को गर्म नहीं कर सकते। यदि इसका समाधान नहीं है, तुम इसे स्वीकार कर लेते हो और फिर यह समस्या नहीं रह जाती। तो समस्या सिर्फ तब तक है जब तक तुम उसका समाधान ढूंढते हो और , इसलिए कोई समस्या ऐसी नहीं है जिसका समाधान नहीं। जिस क्षण तुम्हे यह अनुभव होता है की कोई समाधान नहीं है, वह समस्या समस्या नहीं यह जाती।

समाधान हर समस्या की पूंछ है। समाधान तुम्हे तब मिलता है जब:

तुम शांत और स्थिर हो 

तुम बुद्धि को प्रयोग करते हो 

तुम कार्यशील हो, आलसी नहीं हो

तुम्हे दैवी विधि में दृंढ विश्वास है

काई: यदि हमे कोई समस्या नहीं चाहिए , हम गुरु बन सकते है।

शीला:यदि तुम्हे सभी लोगो की समस्याएँ चाहिए , तो गुरु बन जाओ।

टॉम: पूरा ध्यान केवल समस्या पर केंद्रित करने से हम समस्या का समाधान नहीं कर सकते। पर जब हम अपनी वास्तविक जरुरत, अपना वास्तविक लक्ष्य, अपनी उच्च सत्ता की ओर उठते है, हमे अनेक समाधान मिलते है।

Worship

Do not worship or idolize worship. Idolizing without a sense of belongingness is always futile. Such worship only causes fear and distance. And there are others who are paranoid about worship. They get irritated by seeing others worshipping. The modes of worship or idolizing may be different in different parts of the world. Some worship the pope ; others worship the pop stars. Some are crazy about the politicians. Look at all the children. They worship their heroes all over the walls. Just adoration makes you a fan. Having a sense of belongingness and seeing the Divinity in those whom you adore, makes you a saint.

Raghu: You mean we can see Divinity in a pop star or politician.

Guruji: If You can;..A Divinity that is distorted ( laughter) Those who worship without a sense of belongingness and those who are against worship are in the same boat as both are clogged with fear. In the Bible, it says, " I am your God. And you shall have no other before me. " The same is said in the ancient Indian scriptures.

 "One who worships God as separate from the "I am" consciousness is dull headed". And " Poojo aur na deva".Do not worship other Gods. The offering, the offered and the offerer are all ONE.

न पूजा करो, न आराध्य बनाओ

अपनत्व की भावना के बिना पूजा या आराधना करना बिल्कुल निरर्थक है। ऐसी पूजा केवल भय और दुरी पैदा करती है|

कुछ और लोग पूजा को निंदनीय समझते है। दुसरो को पूजा करते हुए देखकर वे चिढ़ जाते है।

विश्व के विभिन्न भागो में पूजा व् आराधना के ढंग भिन्न होते है। कुछ लोग पोप की पूजा करते है, दूसरे पॉप स्टार्स की ; और कुछ लोग राजनैतिक नेताओ के दीवाने है। बच्चो को देखिए , वे सारी दीवारों पर अपने हीरो के पोस्टर लगाकर पूजा करते है।

प्रशंसा, आराधना का भाव ही तुम्हे प्रशंसक बना देता है। जिन्हे तुम पसंद करते हो, उनके साथ आत्मीयता का भाव रखने से, और उनमे दिव्यता को देखने से तुम संत बनते हो।

रघुराज: मतलब हम पॉप स्टार या राजनीतिज्ञ में दिव्यता को देख सकते है?

श्री श्री: यदि तुम देख सको, तो यह दिव्यता का विकृत रूप है। (हंसी)

जो अपनेपन की भावना के बिना पूजा करते है और जो पूजा के विरुद्ध है, दोनों की दशा एक ही है क्योकि दोनों भय-ग्रस्त है।

बाइबल में कहा है, "मई तुम्हारा भगवन हूँ। मेरे सामने तुम्हारा और कोई भगवान नहीं है।।" यही भारतीय पुरातन शास्त्रों में कहा गया है- 'मैं हूँ ' चेतना से परे जो ईश्वर की पूजा करता हिअ, वह मूढं है। 'पूजा और न देव'- दूसरे देवो को न पूजो।

अर्पण, अर्पित, अर्पणकर्ता- सभी एक है।

FEEL THE PINCH

A devotee asked Guruji: Please forgive me if I have committed a mistake.

Sri Sri: Why should you be forgiven? You are asking for forgiveness because you feel a pinch and you want to be free from it, isn't it? Let the pinch be there. The pinch will not let the mistake happen again. Forgiveness removes the pinch and you keep repeating the mistake!

Question: How do you know a mistake is a mistake?

Sri Sri: A mistake is something that gives you a pinch. If it hasn't pinched you, it is not a mistake at all.

It is the pinch that irks the consciousness and that pinch disallows the mistake to be repeated. Be with the pinch and not the guilt. It is a very fine balance.

Question: What is the difference between guilt and pinch?

Sri Sri: Guilt is about a specific action and pinch is about a specific result or happening. You can only feel guilty about what you did and not about what happened. But whatever happened, whether because of you or someone else can cause a pinch in you.

Question: How do we get over the guilt?

Tom Gill: Just blame the boss!!! ( laughter)

Sri Sri: Through wisdom, by knowing the nature of mind, nature of consciousness and from a broader perspective of the phenomenon, you can get over the guilt.

Question: Cant we learn from our mistakes without feeling the pinch?

Sri Sri: Learning is at an intellectual level whereas you feel the pinch at an emotional level. The drive of your emotions is much stronger than your intellect. So a pinch will not let the mistake recur.

Bharat: We feel guilt where we have control, it is at the intellectual level, whereas a pinch is at the emotional level where we do not have control.

Question: So, should we discard the intellect?

Sri Sri: You cannot be driven by your emotions alone. Your intellect acts like a brake for your emotions!

Feel the pinch.

The pinch will create an awareness that what happened was beyond your capacity.

The awareness will bring you to surrender.

Surrender will free you from guilt.

So, from pinch to awareness to surrender to freedom are the steps of evolution.

चुभन को महसूस करो

एक भक्त ने कहा “गुरुजी मुझे माफ़ कर दीजिए यदि मैन कोई गलती की है। “

श्री श्री: तुम्हे क्यो माफ किया जाए? तुम माफी इसलिए मांग रहे हो क्योंकि तुम्हे चुभन महसूस हो रही है और तुम इससे मुक्त होना चाहते हो, है न? चुभन को वही रहने दो। चुभन तुम्हे दोबारा गलती नही करने देगी। क्षमा चुभन को हटा देती है और तुम गलतिया दोहराते रहते हो।

प्रश्न: यह कैसे जाने को गलगी गलती है?

श्री श्री: गलती तुम्हे चुभन देती है। यदि यह चुभन न दे, तो वह गलती ही नही। यह चुभन ही तुम्हारी चेतना को कचोटती है और गलती को दोबारा नाहीहोने देती। चुभन के साथ रहो, ग्लानि के साथ नही। यह बहुत सूक्ष्म संतुलन है।

प्रश्न: ग्लानि और चुभन में क्या अंतर है?

श्री श्री : ग्लानि एक विशेष कार्य के प्रति होती है और चुभन एक विशेष परिणाम या घटना के प्रति। तुम केवल उस कार्य के प्रति ग्लानि महसूस कर सकते हो जो तुमने किया- जो हुआ उसके लिए नही। लेकिन जो भी हुआ , चाहे तुम्हारे कारण या किसी दूसरे के कारण, तुममे चुभन पैदा कर सकती है।

प्रश्न: ग्लानि से कैसे निकले?

श्री श्री: ज्ञान द्वारा, मन के स्वभाव को जानकर , चेतना के स्वभाव को जानकर, और जो प्रत्यक्ष है, उसके प्रति विशाल दृष्टिकोण अपनाकर तुम ग्लानि से बच सकते हो।

प्रश्न: बिना चुभन अनुभव किए, क्या हम अपनी गलतियों से सीख सकते है?

श्री श्री: सीखना बुद्धि के स्तर पर होता है, जब कि चुभन भावन्त8 प्रवाह है। इसलिए, एक चुभन गलती को दुबारा नही होने देगी।

भरत: ग्लानि का अनुभव हमे बुद्धि के स्तर पर होता है जहाँ हमारा नियंत्रण है। लेकिन चुभन भावनात्मक स्तर पर होती है जहाँ कोई नियंत्रण नही है।

प्रश्न: तो क्या बुद्धि हो हटा दी? 

श्री श्री: तुम केवल भावनाओ द्वारा नही चल सकते। बुद्धि ‘ब्रेक’ के समान है, तुम्हारी भावनाओ पर रोक लगाती है। चुभन को महसूस करो। चुभन एक सजगता पैदा करती है कि जो कुछ भी हुआ, वह तुम्हारे सामर्थ्य के बाहर था। सजगता तुममे समर्पण लाती है। समर्पण तुम्हे ग्लानि से मुक्त करता है।

चुभन से सजगता आती है, फिर उसके कारण समर्पण और समर्पण से मुक्ति- यह है विकास की सीढ़ी।

Drop Your Intentions

 

A strong tendency to keep doing something, whether important or unimportant, becomes an impediment to meditation. Doing starts first with an intention and then translates into action. Though intention springs from the Being, when it becomes doing it doesn’t let you settle down. All intentions, good or bad, trivial or important, need to be dropped for meditation to happen.

 

Vijay: But isn’t dropping all intentions itself an intention?

 

Sri Sri: Yes, but that intention is the last and necessary intention. Dropping the intentions is not an act – just the intention to drop the intentions itself serves the purpose. Dropping all intentions even for a moment brings you in touch with your Self – that instant meditation happens.

 

While you sit for meditation you have to let the world be the way it is. The repetition of meditation is to habituate our system to be able to stop and start activity at will. The ability to do this consciously is a very precious skill.

अपने मंतव्यों को छोड़ दो

 

आवश्यक अथवा अनावश्यक कुछ करते रहने की प्रबल वृत्ति ध्यान में बाधक है।

 

किसी करनी का प्रारंभ एक मंतव्य के साथ होता है जो कर्म में बदल जाता है। हालाँकि मंतव्यों की उतपत्ति आत्मा से ही होती है,  फिर भी जब वे कर्म में परिवर्तित होते है वे तुम्हे स्थिर नही रहने देते। ध्यान में डूबने के लिए अच्छे बुरे, नगण्य- महत्वपूर्ण सभी मंतव्यों को छोड़ने की आवश्यकता है।

 

विजय: पर क्या सभी मंतव्यों को छोड़ना स्वयं ही एक मंतव्य नही है?

श्री श्री:  हाँ, पर यह मंतव्य एक अंतिम और आवश्यक मंतव्य है। मंतव्यों को छोड़ना कोई कृत्य नही है। इरादों को छोड़ने के इरादे से ही काम बन जाता है। क्षणमात्र के लिए भी सारे मंतव्यों को छोड़ देने से तुम अपनी आत्मा के समीप आ जाते हो और उसी पल ध्यान लग जाता है।

ध्यान के लिए बैठते समय तुम्हे दुनिया को वैसे का वैसा ही छोड़ना पड़ेगा।

ध्यान के लगातार अभ्यास से तुम अपनी इच्छानुसार कर्म शुरू करने और छोड़ने में सक्षम हो जाते हो। सजगता से ऐसा करने की योग्यता एक अत्यंत बहुमूल्य कौशल है।

Aishwarya and Madhurya

In the world, usually where there is Aishwarya (Lordship), there is no Madhurya (Sweetness) and where there is Madhurya, there is no Aishwarya.

Where life has blossomed fully, there is both Aishwarya and Madhurya.

Aishwarya means Ishwaratva – Lordship of that which IS. Wealth, too, is referred to as Aishwarya because wealth does command a certain amount of authority.

Can love and authority co-exist?

Only in a fully blossomed Being, there is both Lordship and Sweetness.

There was Aishwarya in Sri Rama, but only glimpses of Madhurya.

Parshuram’s life shows only Lordship, but no Madhurya.

Buddha manifested more of Madhurya – the sweetness, and less of authority.

But Krishna manifested both Aishwarya and Madhurya. So did Jesus.

There is Lordship when they said, "I am the way!"

And there is Sweetness in their expression of Prayer and Love.

ऐश्वर्य व माधुर्य

सामान्यतः जहाँ ऐश्वर्य (अधिपत्य) होता है, वहाँ माधुर्य नही होता और जहाँ माधुर्य होता है वहाँ ऐश्वर्य नही होता। पर जहॉ जीवन पूर्णतः विकसित होता है वहाँ दोनो होते है।

ऐश्वर्य का अर्थ है ईश्वरत्व- जो “है” उसके प्रति आधिपत्य। धन संपत्ति को भी ऐश्वर्य समझा जाता है क्योंकि धन संपत्ति के आधार पर भी अधिकार जताया जाता है।

क्या प्रेम और अधिकार दोनो एक साथ विद्यमान रह सकते है? केवल पूर्णतः विकसित जीव में ही अधिपत्य और मधुरता दोनो एक साथ दिखते है। श्री राम में ऐश्वर्य था, पर माधुर्य की केवल झलक ही थी। परशुराम के जीवन मे केवल अधिपत्य दिखता था, माधुर्य नही। बुध्द में माधुर्य अधिक प्रकट था, अधिपत्य कम। जब कि कृष्ण में ऐश्वर्य और माधुर्य दोनो ही प्रत्यक्ष दिखाई पड़ते थे। यीशु में भी दोनो दिखते थे। जब उन्होंने कहा “ केवल मैं ही रास्ता हूं” इसमे अधिपत्य था, ऐश्वर्य था और उनकी प्रार्थना और प्रेम की अभिव्यक्ति में माधुर्य था।

Volunteer

Who is a volunteer? One who comes to help, without being asked to help; one who is self-motivated, inspired, becomes a volunteer.

There is the possibility of the inspirational motivation going down in a volunteer, which could bring frustration.

Usually volunteers come from the space of demand rather than humility – this dilutes the quality.

Another slack that could happen to a volunteer is that they could slip away from commitment, thinking there is no ‘boss’ – "If I like it, I do it; if I don’t like it, I don’t!" It is like the steering wheel of a car – if all the tires say they do not need steering, then the car cannot run smoothly. If you want to construct a building, you have to accept the authority of the structural engineer.

All these can only be overcome by being more grounded in spiritual knowledge. A volunteer devoid of spiritual dimension is utterly weak.

1) A volunteer needs to stick to his commitment.

2) The integrity in a volunteer comes from spiritual practices.

3) The authority needs to be acknowledged.

4) The strength of a volunteer comes from the challenges he is ready to willingly face.

5) A volunteer moves beyond boundaries as he finds he is capable of doing so many things he never ever thought of doing.

6) A true volunteer does not expect appreciation or reward.

7) A volunteer has such a joy – that joy, itself, comes as the reward.

8) If a volunteer thinks he is obliging somebody, he is thoroughly mistaken. He is ‘volunteering’ because he derives so much joy out of it.

The joy is immediate – it does not come on the first of every month in the form of a salary!

When a volunteer realizes this, he is filled with gratitude.

When a volunteer waivers from within, the support system is knowledge and good friends.

स्वयंसेवक

स्वयंसेवक कौन है? वह जो बिना कहे सहायता के लिए स्वयं आगे बढ़ता है; जो व्यक्ति स्वप्रेरित है, प्रेरणा से भरा है वह स्वयंसेवक बन जाता है।

स्वयंसेवक के लिए यह संभव है कि कभी उसकी अन्तः प्रेरणा कम हो जाए जिससे उसमें निराशा आ सकती है। प्रायः स्वयंसेवक का मनोभाव मांग से आता है न कि विनयशीलता के कारण- इससे सेवा की गुणता कम हो जाती है। स्वयंसेवक के पतन की एक और संभावना यह है कि वे अपने प्रतिबद्धता खो सकते है यह सोच कर कि यहाँ कोई बाँस तो है नही इसलिए यदि मेरा मन करेगा तो मैं करूँगा , और मन नहीं है तो मैं नही करूँगा। यह एक गाड़ी के स्टीयरिंग व्हील के जैसा है- यदि सारे पहिये कहे कि उन्हें परिचालन की आवश्यकता नही है तब गाड़ी ठीक से नही चल सकती। यदि तुम एक बिल्डिंग का निर्माण करना चाहते हो तब तुम्हे इंजीनियर के प्राधिकार को स्वीकार करना पड़ेगा।

आध्यात्मिक ज्ञान में गहरे उत्तर कर ही इन सब से ऊपर उठा जा सकता है।

आध्यात्मिक पहलू से विहीन स्वयंसेवक बहुत कमजोर होता है।

# स्वयंसेवक को प्रतिबद्ध रहने की आवश्यकता है।

# स्वयंसेवक की निष्ठा उसकी साधना द्वारा उत्पन्न होती है।

# सेवा कार्य के लिए प्राधिकार को स्वीकार करने की आवश्यकता है।

# स्वयंसेवक का बल उन चुनौतियों से

 आता है जिनका वह खुशी खुशी सामना करने के लिए तैयार है।

# जब स्वयंसेवक जान लेता है कि वह बहुत सारे कार्यो को करने में सक्षम है, जिनके बारे में उसने सोचा भी नही था तब वह अपनी सक्षमता की सीमा को भी पार कर लेता है।

# एक सच्चा स्वयंसेवक किसी पुरस्कार या प्रशंसा की अपेक्षा नही करता। यदि स्वयंसेवक सोचता है कि वह किसी पर एहसान कर रहा है तो यह उसकी भूल है।

कोई व्यक्ति स्वयंसेवक इसलिए होता है, क्योकि उसे उसमे आनंद प्राप्त होता है। वह आंनद तुरंत मिलता है और वही उसका पुरस्कार है- उसके लिये वेतन के जैसे हर महीने के पहली तारीख की प्रतीक्षा नही करना होती है। जब स्वयंसेवक यह जान लेता है, तब वह कृतज्ञता से भर जाता है।

जब स्वयंसेवक डगमगाता है तब ज्ञान और सच्चे मित्र उसके सहारा बनते है।

There are five types of seva.

The first type of seva is when you do not even know that you are doing seva. You do not recognize it as seva because it is your very nature - you cannot but do it!

The second type of seva is what you do because it is needed in that situation.

You do the third type of seva because it gives you joy.

The fourth type is done out of your desire for merit - you do seva expecting some benefit in the future.

And the fifth type is when you do seva just to show off, to improve your image and to gain social or political recognition. Such seva is simply exhausting, while the first type does not bring any tiredness at all!

To improve the quality of your seva, regardless of where you start, you must move up to higher levels of seva.

सेवा पाँच प्रकार होती है।

# पहले प्रकार की सेवा वह है जब तुम्हे पता भी नही चलता कि तुम सेवा कर रहे हो। तुम उसे सेवा की तरह नही देखते क्योकि वह तुम्हारा स्वभाव है- तुम उसको करे बिना रह ही नही पाते।

# दूसरे प्रकार की सेवा तुम इसलिए करते हो, क्योकि वह उस परिस्थिति की जरूरत है।

# तीसरे प्रकार की सेवा तुम इसलिए करते हो क्योकि यह तुम्हे आनंद देती है।

# चौथे प्रकार की सेवा इसलिए कि जाती है, क्योकि तुम पुण्य कमाना चाहते हो- तुम भविष्य में किसी लाभ की अपेक्षा से सेवा करते हो।

# पांचवे प्रकार की सेवा तुम केवल दिखावे के लिए करते हो, अपनी छवि को अच्छा करना चाहते हो और समाज या राजनीति में अपनी पहचान बनाना चाहते हो। इस प्रकार की सेवा से केवल थकान होती है जबकि प्रथम प्रकार की सेवा से बिल्कुल थकान नही होती।

भले ही तुमने जिस भी स्तर से सेवा प्रारंभ की हो पर अपनी सेवा की गुणवत्ता को बढ़ाने के लिए तुम्हे उच्चतमर स्तरों की ओर बढ़ना चाहिए।

Confidence with Humility: The Rarest Combination

One of the rarest combinations in the human personality is the co-existence of confidence and humility. Often people who are confident are not humble and people with humility are not confident.

Confidence blended with humility is most appreciated by everybody.

Question: How can confidence be developed in one who is humble and humility in one who is confident?

Sri Sri:

When you see your life from a bigger context of time and space, then you realize your life is nothing.

When you are humble you need to see that you are unique and dear to the Divine, which brings confidence, and when you realize you are insignificant, that brings confidence.

When you have a guru, you cannot be arrogant. Your guru gives you confidence and also brings humility in you. The weakness in humility and the arrogance in confidence are removed.

You are left with confidence and humility!

आत्मविश्वास और विनम्रता का एक साथ विद्यमान होना अति दुर्लभ मिश्रण है। प्रायः जिनमे आत्मविश्वास होता है वे विनम्र नही होते और जिनमे विनम्रता होती है उनमें आत्मविश्वास नही होता। विश्वास और विनम्रता का सम्मिश्रण सभी को सर्वाधिक सर्वप्रिय होता है।

प्रश्न: जो व्यक्ति विनम्र है उसमें आत्मविश्वास कैसे उत्पन्न किया जा सकता है और जिसमे आत्मविश्वास है उसे विनम्र कैसे बनाया जा सकता है?

श्री श्री: पहला जब तुम अपने जीवन को एक विशाल दृष्टि से कल और स्थान के परिपेक्ष्य में देखते हो तब तुम अनुभव करते हो कि तुम्हारा जीवन कुछ भी नही है। दूसरा जो लोग विनम्र होते है उन्हें यह जानने की आवश्यकता है कि वे अद्वितीय और ईश्वर के अति प्रिय है इससे उनमे आत्मविश्वास उत्पन्न होता है। और जब तुम यह अनुभव करते हो की तुम नगण्य हो इससे भी आत्मविश्वास जाग्रत होता है। और तीसरा यदि तुम्हारे पास गुरु है तब भी तुम अभिमानी नही रह सकते। गुरु तुम मे आत्मविश्वास लाते है और विनम्रता भी लाते है। विनम्रता से दुर्बलता और आत्मविश्वास से अभिमान निकल जाता है। और जो तुम्हारे पास बचता है वह है- आत्मविश्वास और विनम्रता।।

Question: Guruji, how can we control daydreams?

Sri Sri: Dream in the night! (laughter)

What is daydreaming? You have a desire but you do not have the faith that you can achieve your desire - that is what you call daydreaming.

You can control daydreaming by having a strong goal and believing in it.

Like the scientist who wanted to go to the moon and kept dreaming about it - for him it was the goal of his life but for others it was daydreaming.

Either you drop that it will not happen or you believe!

When you do not know yourself, your potentiality, you have no faith and confidence in your dream.

Once you have faith and confidence in your dream, it is no longer a daydream!

प्रश्न- गुरुजी हम दिन के सपनों पर कैसे नियंत्रण पा सकते है?

श्री श्री: रात में स्वप्न देखो। (हंसी)

दिवा स्वप्न क्या है? जब तुम्हारी कोई इच्छा है पर तुम्हे यह पूरा विश्वास नही है कि वो इच्छा पूरी होगी- उसे ही दिवा स्वप्न कहते है। एक पक्का लक्ष्य और उस तब पहुँच पाने के द्रढ़ विश्वास के द्वारा तुम दिवा स्वप्नों पर नियंत्रण पा सकते हो। ठीक उसी वैज्ञानिक को तरह जो चन्द्रमा तब जाने का सपना देखता रहता था- उसके लिए यह उसके जीवन का लक्ष्य था पर और लोगो के लिए वह दिवास्वप्न था।

या तो तुम उस सपने को छोड़ दो की वह नही पूरा होगा या पूरा विश्वास रखो की वह होगा। जब तुम स्वयं को नही जानते, अपने सामर्थ्य को नही पहचानते, तभी तुमको अपने सपनो पर विश्वास या निष्ठा नही होती। जैसे ही तुम्हे अपने सपने पर विश्वास या निष्ठा आ जाती है, तब वह दिवा स्वप्न नही रहता।

Respect and Ego

There are two types of respect.

1. Respect that comes to you because of your position, fame or wealth. This type of respect is impermanent. It can be lost once you lose your wealth or status.

2. Respect that comes because of your virtues like honesty, kindness, commitment, patience and your smile. This respect, no one can take away.

The less you are attached to your virtues, the more self respect you have. If you get attached to your virtues, you look down upon everybody else and they (the virtues) start diminishing. Non- attachment to virtues brings the highest self respect.

Often one confuses ego with self esteem. Ego needs the other for comparision, self esteem is just confidence in oneself. For example, a gentleman claims that he is thorough in Mathematics or Geography, this is self esteem. But to say that I know better than you, that is Ego.

Ego simply means lack of respect to the Self.

Ego upsets you very often. Self esteem is immune to getting upset by external factors. In self respect, everything is a game, winning or losing has no meaning, every step is joy, every move is celebration.

In Self esteem you simply realise you have it.

सम्मान और अहंकार

सम्मान दो प्रकार का होता है। पहले प्रकार का सम्मान तुम्हे तुम्हारे पद, प्रसिद्धि या संपत्ति के कारण मिलता है। पर इस प्रकार का सम्मान अस्थायी होता है। तुम्हारे धन या पद के खत्म होने पर यह सम्मान भी समाप्त हो सकता है। दूसरे प्रकार का सम्मान तुम्हे तुम्हारे गुणों के कारण मिलता है, जैसे तुम्हारी मुस्कराहट, ईमानदारी, दयालुता, धैर्य और प्रतिबद्धता। ऐसे सम्मान को कोई तुमसे छीन नहीं सकता।

तुम अपने गुणों से जितना कम आसक्त रहते हो, उतना तुम्हारा आत्मसम्मान अधिक है। जब तुम अपने गुणों से आसक्त हो जाते हो, तब तुम दुसरो को नीची नजर से देखते हो और तुम्हारे सद्गुण क्षीण होने लगते है। सद्गुणों के साथ अनासक्त रहने से तुम्हे सर्वोच्च आत्मसम्मान मिलता है।

प्रायः अपने अहंकार और आत्मसम्मान के बीच में हम भेद नहीं कर पाते। अहंकार को तुलना करने के लिए कोई दूसरा चाहिए होता है। पर स्वाभिमान केवल स्वयं पर आत्मविश्वासी है। उदाहरण के तौर पर यदि कोई कहे की वह गणित या भूगोल में निपुण है तो यह स्वाभिमान है। पर यह कहना की मैं तुमसे अधिक जानता हूं, अहंकार है।

अहंकार माने आत्मा के प्रति सम्मान की अभाव।

तुम्हारा अहंकार प्रायः तुम्हे परेशान करता है। परंतु स्वाभिमान बाहरी कारको से प्रभावित नहीं होता। आत्मसम्मान में हर चीज खेल लगती है। क्योंकि हर पल ख़ुशी है, हर कदम उत्सव है, इसीलिए हार- जीत का कोई महत्त्व नहीं होता। स्वाभिमान में तुम बस यह जान लेते हो की वह (गुण) तुम्हारे पास है।

Letting Go of Control

Many have a problem of letting go of control. This results in anxiety, restlessness and it sours relationships.

Wake up and see, are you really in control? What are you in control of? Perhaps a tiny part of your waking state! Isn’t that so?

You are not in control when you are sleeping or dreaming.

You are not in control of thoughts and emotions coming to you. You may choose to express it or not, but they come to you without your prior permission!

You realize that most of the functions of your body are not in your control, and the same for your life and the whole universe.

Similarly, do you think you are in control of all the events in your life or in the world? That is a joke!

When you look at things from this angle you need not be afraid of losing control, because you have none!

Whether you realise it or not, when you let go of your sense of control that is when you truly relax. Your identification of being somebody does not let you relax totally and it keeps your domain limited.

नियंत्रण छोड़ना

कई लोगो को समस्या है कि वे अपने नियंत्रण को नहीं छोड़ पाते है। इसका परिणाम है व्याकुलता, बेचैनी और रिश्तों में खटास।

जागो और देखो वास्तव में तुम्हारा क्या नियंत्रण है? तुम किसके नियंत्रण में हो? शायद जाग्रत अवस्था के एक छोटे से हिस्से के। है न ?

#सोते समय या स्वप्न देखते हुए तुम नियंत्रण में नहीं होते

# अपने विचारो और भावनाओं के प्रति तुम्हारा कोई नियंत्रण नहीं है तुम उन्हें अभिव्यक्त करने या न करने का निर्णय ले सकते हो, पर वे तुम्हारे पास तुमसे पूछे बिना ही आ जाते है।

# तुम्हारे शरीर की अधिकतर प्रक्रियाएं तुम्हारे नियंत्रण में नहीं होती।

क्या तुम्हे लगता है कि अपने जीवन की सभी घटनाओ पर, दुनिया या ब्रह्माण्ड में हो रही सभी घटनाओं पर तुम्हारा नियंत्रण है? यह एक मजाक है।

जब तुम चीजो को इस दृष्टिकोण से देखते हो तब तुम्हे नियंत्रण खोने का भय नहीं होता, क्योकि तुम्हारे पास कुछ नियंत्रण के लिए है भी नहीं।

तुम जानो या ना जानो, पर जब भी तुम अपने नियंत्रण की भावना को छोड़ते हो तभी तुम्हे सच्चा विश्राम मिलता है। तुम्हारी यह पहचान की “ तुम कुछ हो, तुम्हे पूर्णतः विश्राम नहीं लेने देती औए तुम्हारे व्यक्तित्व के प्रभाव क्षेत्र को सिमित रखती है।
