The Five Signs Of Satguru

In the presence of Satguru:

1. Knowledge flourishes

2. Sorrow diminishes

3. Without any reason, joy wells up

4. Lack diminishes; abundance dawns

5. All talents manifest

To the degree you feel connected to the Guru, these qualities manifest in your life.
Sit with your eyes closed, feel the connection with the Guru, and start making your own knowledge sheet.

Next week's knowledge sheet will be written and spoken by those whose name starts with the letter "A" and this will continue in alphabetical order.
So,
1. Make a knowledge sheet

2. Take a commitment for a seva project.

The more you give, the more strength will be given to you.
Exercise: Sit with your eyes closed for one minute and surrender your name. How do you feel . . . ?

Dissolving the name is awareness.

Dissolving the form is meditation.

World is name and form.
Bliss transcends name and form.

Love is not an activity to do or not to do

We should not think that others are not loving us, if they are not loving us, then it is their stupidity. In this world, if someone is not loving the other then it's his/her stupidity.

If one is settled, centered, contented, happy from within, then he can't but love ! He/she will only emit love for everybody and if you are good then won't they not love you ?

Love is not an activity to do or not to do, love is our very existence !

- Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji

If your plan breaks

If a child's toy breaks, he gets an opportunity to buy new toys..Isn't it?

Wake up!
If your plan breaks, know that something better is in store for you..
Divine plan is working in your life..
Don't worry..
Relax..

Getting into something is a blessing..
Getting out of something is also a blessing..
Be centered..
Knowing that," I have all the blessings, I have all the grace, you must happily move ahead".
I am with you..

WAVES OF HAPPINESS

Sing , dance or write something..

Mother Earth holds everyone by the same gravitational force..Right?

Wake up!
You all are so deeply connected..
Spending time gossiping and talking ill about others is of no use..
Be joyful..
Relax..

Sing , dance or write something..
Do something useful..
Smile and make others smile..
Leave such footprints that can't be erased for thousand years..

WAVES OF HAPPINESS

Peace and Happiness.

See if you keep talking negative, your system undergoes such a strain-such knots get created in your own body. And if you keep praising the Lord, praising the Divine, then your entire system undergoes a transformation. It is a scintillating experience, every cell in your body is charged up, it feels so alive, so full of love.

They purify not just their family, not just their relatives, but the whole world. They bring holiness to the land, to the place, to the holy place. The holy place is where devotees walk, devotees sit, devotees think. That is teertha-that is the holy place. They make even the holy places holier. If a holy place is devoid of devotees who cry for the Divinity, it is no more holy.

If a holy place is a place of fight and crime, it has lost it’s vibration, it’s serenity, it’s holiness. How can a sacred place maintain its sacredness? It is by devotees being there, singing, praising the glory of the Divine. When such devotees walk there, the place becomes holy and they make every action holy.

They make every action good action, right action and they make the scriptures true, they testify the scriptures. Devotees fulfil the scriptures. Shastrani anyone can read a book to you, it is not a shastra. But when you hear someone reading a book and it gets into you, that is shastra. Shastra is that which directly keeps you in touch with the truth, which touches your heart.

Do you see what I’m saying? Sometimes you hear something and it clicks, somewhere you feel "Yes, this is it” That exclamation that arises in your heart, “Oh yes, I agree, I know” that is shastra. That is sushastra, the right scriptures, right wisdom. They bring life to wisdom. You find wisdom in all the libraries, knowledge is there everywhere in the libraries, but it doesn’t integrate with life.

When knowledge does not integrate with life, it does not become wisdom with integration of knowledge, life happens. They are filled by him. A devotee is filled, every particle of the devotee is filled with the Divine. His heart, his mind, his breath, his body, everywhere it is only the Divine love that is present.

A devotee’s glory is so much more than God Himself. People who have crossed over, the ancestors, those who have died, they simply rejoice in the very presence of such a devotee. They simply love them. All the angels and all the divinities the devas, they dance.

And this earth finds the Lord in such a devotee. The earth finds a caretaker, the earth relaxes. All the species on earth relax. There is somebody there to take care of me, who cares for me, who loves me. The earth finds a caretaker in the devotee. All the departed souls who have left this body rejoice. They find such peace and happiness.

Each animal brings down certain cosmic vibration onto the planet

Blinds man walks into darkness, if he catches hold of any of this. The gross material universe is governed by the subtle forces. The subtle forces are called the Devas. The microcosm and macrocosm are connected. There are 9 planets in our solar system and they have an impact on our mind-body complex.

They have an impact on the grains, the plants that grow on this planet. The ancient people had a science of tracking this connection. A particular part of your body is also connected to this, like they said that the planet Mars is connected to the liver and is also connected to chickpeas.

Similarly the Sun is connected to the eyes and rice. Sesame seed, teeth, crow and Saturn are connected in the same way.
Each animal brings down certain cosmic vibration onto the planet. So the Divine forces, Devas are carried onto the planet by certain specific things. Remember Devas are not Brahman.

Devas are particular energy patterns in the universe. Like when sunlight passes through a prism, it gives 7 colours. Each colour has some definite function. Every element absorbs all other colours except one and that's how this world is colourful.

If something appears green, it is because it absorbs all other colours so it reflects the green colour. If this phenomenon does not happen, we would be living in a black and white universe, like the black and white movies in the olden days - Charlie Chaplin, I love Lucy.

If you can compare white light with the Paramatma or the Self, the specific aspect of this Self, the colour is the Devas. Take your own body for example. You need a doctor for the heart, one for ENT. A cardiac surgeon is different from a neurologist. A neurologist is different from a urologist.

A urologist is different from an orthopedic surgeon. You have different doctors to attend to one single body. Similarly there are different Devatas for different parts of the body. When the vedic Rudrabhishekham is done, you invoke different devas for the different parts of the body.

A particular deva is like that particular divine light, a particular aspect of the ethereal Brahman. Knowledge about the subtle, the spiritual knowledge is Vidya. The spiritual and the material knowledge have to be combined.

You have to go with both. If a doctor is proficient only in orthopaedics, he will be incomplete. If you have some stomach problem, he can only treat the bones. You need the complete picture of the subtle and the gross.

Those who are engaged in studying the gross are incomplete and those who are engaged in studying the subtle are also incomplete. You need a good mix - n - match of both and this is what they are saying.

The gross creation is ruled, managed by the subtle one and the subtle energy is called the Devas.

We have heard from the seers that it is different from vidya and from avidya too. Yes, this is obvious. A dietician will say what you need - increase proteins, reduce fat, increase carbohydrates. They give you this knowledge. This is very subtle knowledge.

Similarly in the realm of consciousness there are subtle forces and they are called the Devas. How many Devas are there? 33 crores. What are 33 crores in millions? 330 million. I don't know who counted it, whether the counting is correct or not.

Maybe there is some addition to it by now. There are so many different types of Devas present in the consciousness or Brahman. All these different Devas have a definite role to play in the protection of the universe.

As I said, each animal carries some biodynamic rays with them and these are the carriers of the Devas. A particular kind of biodynamic energy is brought to the world by the peacock, lion, and by every other species.

Every single species is connected to a Deva. Do you know what the anthropologists say today? Even if one species becomes extinct from the creation, there will be total imbalance and chaos in the whole creation, the creation cannot sustain itself.

They may reduce in number but they cannot get totally extinct because the creation will dissolve and new creation will have to happen. This is related to the string theory in physics. A butterfly, a mosquito, a rabbit, a cat are all part of this creation.

Even if anyone of this species becomes totally extinct, this creation will dissolve. This is the science of the Devas. Osteopaths have found out that if you have a particular problem, how you have to correct that particular muscle, tissue, in your body so that you feel better.

The job of the Devas is to bring comfort in this gross creation. The gross creation is ruled, managed by the subtle one and the subtle energy is called the Devas.

The wise ones cross the ocean of death by Avidya and attain immortality through Vidya.

He who knows both vidya and avidya together crosses by avidya and obtains immortality by vidya. Work on the subtle and work on the gross. You know consciousness is everything but knowing that consciousness is everything you cannot eat everything.

For your physical wellbeing you have to be discreet in what you eat, what is good for the body and what is not. You can't say, "All this is Brahman, all this is consciousness. All this is part of me anyways. Let me eat anything that I want." It doesn't work that way. That discrimination has to be there.

Unfortunately, this advaita knowledge has been misunderstood and misused by many people. You will see people just lying down anywhere and say "Everything is the same, all is Brahman." Good, but they have not understood the very basic.

They don't bother to clean or cut their nails. “All is Brahman, what is there? Anyways we are going to die one day”. In the name of advaita they are torturing one's body. If you go to Kumbh Mela, you will see people putting fire all over their body, head, hands, sitting ding tapas. The Upanishads do not agree with such things.

The scriptures do not give sanction to such practices. Someone says so - and - so is a very great Saint. What does he do? He is standing on one leg for 30 years. What did he get by standing on one leg for so long? Torturing one's body is not advaita. It's not Vedanta.

Sitting and doing Puja from morning till night, chanting the whole time is also not Vedanta. Rituals and ceremonies have their importance. They create certain subtle vibrations, subtle energy. They are the means to work on the subtle level. But not that one is totally immersed in it day and night and not taking care of anything else. The wise ones cross the ocean of death by Avidya and attain immortality through Vidya.

Clarity in mind, purity in heart,

Question - Gurudev we live life with desires to gain something, either material pleasures or spiritual solace, but once we attain the divinity, Upanishads tell us to live for 100 years. Is it not a punishment to live life without getting anything in return?

Gurudev Sri Sri - You are just looking at one dimension of getting. You think joy is in getting. I have made it very clear that there is a joy in contributing. Live life for others who need you. Ok, for sometime in life, get, receive, but afterwards start giving also.

When you are a student, your whole focus is in getting your qualification. What is the point if you are just trying to qualify yourself up to the age of 80? You are going from one school to another to another and studying and studying.

What is the use? How do you put to use all that you have studied? Somewhere you have to put it to use. Similarly you acquire for some time. After you have acquired, now you start disseminating it.

Question - Gurudev, yesterday you talked about giving vs wanting. We from childhood have been surrounded with examples of wanting more money, more time, and more knowledge. We are also taught to ask God for things in our prayers. I am tired of this asking. How can I come out of this state of want?

Gurudev Sri Sri - have already done it when you say, “I am tired of asking”. Relax, Even without asking you are being given. You will get it. That's it. You will ask only when you are not so confident that you will get. I never asked anything even from my parents. My parents would wonder, "Why are you not asking?"

I would say, "You are giving to my sister, so you will give me also. I will get anyway, why should I ask?" Have that confidence that you will get it. Either have this confidence or ask. Don't feel guilty about it. Ask and it shall be given. The one thing to keep in the mind is to be spontaneous.

Clarity in mind, purity in heart,
spontaneity in action. If you felt like asking, ask. You felt no need, no need to ask. You don't have to sit and chew on it." I should ask. I should not ask. " It makes you lose your spontaneity, your innocence and the present moment.

The self inside you also feels It is young, ageless

What happens there? That space is not afflicted by any action. You are free from karma. Karma is action. There are 3 types of karma. First, potential karma - the tendency in you that will make you act in the future.

Second is the action, which is happening now. Third is the action, which has left an impression on you. The impression of action, Acton and potential action, all three are karma. Often people don't make this distinction.

They get so caught up with this karma thing. "Oh karma, karma, karma." In India, say, "It's my karma, so it's inevitable, I had to bear it, this is my karma." If there is something unavoidable, you say this is karma.

Karma is action, which is potential or present, you are acting on it, and third is the impression or effect of karma. A glimpse of this dimension, which is beyond space, frees you from karma. This experience has come to your life sometimes wherein you are saying things you don't want to say but you are watching what you are saying helplessly.

How many of you have done this? You got upset or you were saying things which you don't want to say you kept saying it. Right, how many? Raise your hand. At some time or the other in your life you have experienced that you are watching, witnessing, whatever is happening.

It may be for a fleeting second.
If you happen to go to a jail just to visit and speak to the people there, you will be amazed. Once I was in the largest jail here in India, of course to give a talk there. I said, " Look, let us confess. Tell me really if you have done something. How many of you have really committed a crime?"

Not one hand rose there. I looked at the jailor sitting next to me, “They say they are all innocent”. He replied "That's what they all say." This is true. Because the Atman or the Self always feels innocent. It is not afflicted by the crime. It is not the doer. That's why even the worst criminal will say, it just happened. I don't know how it happened. Whatever happened, happened. I was not in control."

The self inside you also feels It is young, ageless. People in their 50s or 60s say, "Children have grown up but I am still young." Nobody feels they have grown old. Why? Because the self does not age. The Self is pure. The moment you become aware, you know you are not the doer whether it's a good act or the worst act.

People who have done extremely well in sports or music and have won Grammy awards or great awards, you ask them "Did you really do this?" They give you blank stares. “No I don't know. It just happened”. Many times they themselves are amazed or amused. What happened? The field of action has its own set of laws.

But the existence of the self, which is the sum mum of creation, has its own separate dimension. And the Upanishad give a peep into this dimension. They give you a glimpse into this marvellous, unfathomable, undescribable aspect of creation. Both are essential.

Quantum mechanics says everything is made up of vibrations, energy

Those who follow the path of avidya enter into blinding darkness. Those who are engrossed in vidya also enter into a greater blinding darkness. To simplify this in today's language, I would bring you back to quantum mechanics.

Quantum mechanics says everything is made up of vibrations, energy, whereas classical chemistry describes the differences in all substances - one proton is hydrogen, two is helium, metals are different from gases and so on.

Quantum mechanics and classical chemistry both are essential. If you are stuck in classical chemistry - periodic table, you are limited, you have no idea what's happening in reality. If you are thinking only about quantum mechanics view, everything is the same. Whether stone or a handful of grain, it is the same.

A chair or door is the same. Here the Rishi says if you are in Avidya. Avidya is all the sciences that we have - everything about body, about nature, about creation, all the intricacies here in this dimension of life - food, nutrition, all this. All the Vedas come under Avidya, especially those that deal with the material science.

These are all Avidya. And then there is Vidya, knowledge of the Self - the more subtle, causal and ethereal knowledge. Knowledge about the energy, about the life force is Vidya. Knowledge about matter is Avidya, knowledge about the self is Vidya. Both have to be taken together. You should go with both.

Dance can happen only when one foot is on the floor and the other is in the air. If both your feet are buried in the mud you can't move. It is no dance. You need to balance, one foot here on the ground, one foot up there.

Satvik love is unconditional love

Satvik love is unconditional love. “I don’t care what you do to me, but from my side I'm just going to love you. I love because I have no choice. I can't but , because I am love.” This understanding, this tendency that arises from within you, that is satvik love.

From time to time, according to these four different categories of people, these three different types of love manifest in this world. And they can change also. You might have been in tamasik love 10 years back, then you could have come to rajasik, and might have become satvik also.

Wisdom brings you more and more into the satvik type of love. Earlier is always better. Means satvik is better than rajasik, rajasik is better than tamasik. We spoke in the reverse direction it is same thing. Satvik is better than rajasik and rajasik is better than tamasik love.

Similarly the knowledge, the wisdom, the love of a wise person, of a gyani, of an Enlightened, is better than that of a seeker. And a seeker’s love is better than that of one who is craving for some material wealth, who is in pursuit of gaining something. And that is better than those who are miserable.

A person who is miserable cannot hear. The eyes are blocked, they just speak. Someone who is in pursuit of some material comfort, his ears are a little more open, but open only to the subject which he wants. But a seeker, a Spiritual seeker, his eyes and ears are much more open.

A gyani listens to this creation, he listens to silence, he listens to the unspoken words. Any amount of advice or speech given to a miserable person is in vain, because they don't listen to you, isn’t that your experience? If someone is miserable, if you give advice, does he hear you, listen to you? They are just closed.

They have a one track mind, everything just goes above the head. Satvik type of love is better. They all say the same. The earlier one is better than the later one. The question is how to get it, how to have it? This is the easiest path. Love is not a practice. It is just an acknowledgement.

You only have to wake up and feel the sense of belongingness. Whether you do it today, after 10 years, after ten lifetimes, it is up to you. But it doesn’t take any time at all. There is a proverb that says, “It may take some time to pluck a flower from a plant, or even to blink your eye, but it won't take any time to attain Divine love at all. It is instantaneous.

It is so easy, the easiest thing. Don't sit and wait to have a sense of belongingness sometime in the future. You are thoroughly mistaken. If you don’t have a sense of belongingness today, you think it will come after ten years, after five years of doing asanas, pranayama and everything?

You don’t need any other proof. Love itself, is the proof. You don’t have to go and ask someone, “Do I have love in my heart?” Nobody needs to authenticate you. Your knowledge needs an authentication, whether it is correct or not.

Your knowledge needs verification, whether it is authentic or not. Whether your perception is correct or not needs to be told to you by somebody. Your experience has to be told by someone whether it is right or not.

When you have offered yourself to the Divine

Love is a proof in itself. It is the proof in itself. Just look into someone's eyes, you see whether they are worried or they are in love. In worry there is apathy and in love you can see the spark in their eyes. When you can notice that in others, you think one cannot notice for oneself what is happening inside?

It is impossible. It is like a pain in the neck or in the leg or in your stomach anywhere you have a pain, can you not know it? Do you need someone else to prove that you have a pain? Svayam pramantvat - You know it, you feel it. It is instantaneous.

No external proof is needed for such a love. Two more attributes of Divine love, Narada explains Shanti rupat - Divine love is of the nature of peace. And Paramanand rupascha extreme bliss, extreme ecstasy. Shantirupat peaceful. It is not the love of excitement, it is the love that comes with peace.

Usually love is associated with feverishness or excitement, tension, because you are in love, and you are worried whether the person whom you are in love with loves you or not. All the time there is the doubt, “Oh, I love that person so much, does he or she love me also or not? And what do they think?”

Fear of losing that love. All these anxieties, feverishness distort love. But Divine love is shantirupat, there is such a serene calmness and peace with it. There is inexpressible joy, bliss. A glimpse of such love doesn't take time, of course, that is true. But to stabilize that love, to maintain it in our daily life, it needs some strength, it needs some time.

If your world is crumbling around you, don’t worry about it, because you have surrendered, you have offered everything to the Divine, niveditatma yourself, the world, your own world. When you belong to the Divine, you think your world doesn't belong to the Divine? When you belong to the Divine, your family also belongs to the Divine, your whole world belongs to the Divine, your knowledge belongs to the Divine, your character belongs to the Divine.

We are worried about ourselves, we are worried about our family, about our reputation, about our knowledge, our correctness or incorrectness of the knowledge. These are the four main principles that cause worry to you. You worry about what people think about you, you worry about how you can carry on your life.

Don't worry, when you have offered yourself to the Divine, all this also belongs to the Divine. So you don't have to worry, nature will take care of it, the Divine will take care of it. There is a story of Draupadi. She was asking for help from Krishna. But with one hand she was holding herself.

She was a queen of Arjuna and she was stripped in an open assembly by the king of that place. She was holding the saree in one hand and she was calling for help from the other. She never got the help. But when she had to leave both hands and with both her hands up she cried, then the help came, then the sari, the cloth that she was wearing would never finish.

The more he stripped, the more it would grow. Have you heard this story? And he got tired, because the pile of sari came up high, and his hands were so tired stripping it off her. But he could not succeed. This is one of the stories about how Draupadi threw both her hands up and cried for help.

Love Is Beyond Proof

There is another story about Krishna. Once He had sat down to eat, persons were serving him. He was eating the food when he suddenly got up in the middle of the meal and ran, saying, “My devotee is in trouble.” Everyone kept saying, “Oh, no, don't go, eat the food and then go”

He went to the door and then He came back. He said, “He was calling me, but then he took care of himself.” There are many stories, many events in your own life when you were really desperate and when you dropped all your hang ups the help definitely came.

But if you are holding onto a handle with one hand and then trying to jump, it is like holding onto the diving board and wanting to swim. You are neither in the water nor are you on the diving board. You are hanging somewhere in between.

If it appears that you are losing, everything is going haywire, don't worry about losing anything because you have offered all this, it is already done. Until that perfection is achieved, even before the result appears, keep acting.

Keep acting, but don’t worry about the fruit of action. Don't be attached to the result of an action. Don't think you are in control of everything. This is the greatest illusion. You know, success brings more illusion, because when you are successful, you think you achieved it.

But if someone else repeats all that you did, I tell you, they won't be successful. This has happened. There is no prototype for success in the world, no, what do you call it? Formula. There is no concrete formula for success, I tell you this could be a formula. One formula for success : there is no formula for success.

All these advertisements you see, how to make money, so and so did that, just go a little deeper into it. You will see it is emptier than it is full. It is all hype, isn’t it? What do you say? You know, one gentleman was just an apple vendor in the street, and he made a huge amount of money, became a very successful person.

You think every apple vendor can become so successful? You hear the story and then you think, “Okay, I can also sell apples on the street to become successful like that person” It doesn’t work like that. There is something called karma. The Rishi says that there is no doubt everything works and happens according to karma, but you don't just sit.

Don’t be feverish about the result. Just act with joy. Yes, you heard, Gurudev said today there is no point in pranayama, meditation, why do all this, don't start. Don't stop singing, don't stop meditating, all this, until you get perfectly grounded in the love.

Until you are perfectly grounded in your centre, these things will have to be continued. And even after it becomes your nature, you will automatically sit and be in the state of meditation.

Yoga and spirituality

Yoga and spirituality are given tremendous respect all over the world today. Regardless of the country, people all over are rapidly adopting and integrating Yoga in their lives.

If you go to the city of Troms├╕ in Norway, which is the last point of the country closest to the Arctic Circle, where the sun shines for just two months in a year, even there people are practicing pranayama, and meditation. The chants of om namah shivaya are resonating even in such a faraway place.

In the same way, the last city in the Southern hemisphere of the Earth – Tiera del Fuego, after which begins the Antarctic Circle; there also you will find thousands of people gathering together to chant Om namah Shivaya, and practicing the Sudarshan Kriya. This is India’s gift to the world.

India has made a place for itself in every home in the world (by virtue of Indian Spirituality). Our Rishis (wise sages) have said, 'Krunavanto vishwam aryam'. It means, 'We will grow and spread glory through the world'.

I see their dream turning into a reality today.

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji

ALL ABOUT SUDARSHAN KRIYA

What is Sudarshan Kriya?

The Sudarshan Kriya, a powerful rhythmic breathing technique that facilitates physical, mental, emotional and social well-being is an integral part of Art of Living programmes.

It is preceded by Ujjayi Pranayam or long and deep breaths with constriction at the base of throat and Bhastrika or fast and forceful breaths through the nose along with arm movements.

It is today universally acclaimed for its effectiveness in eliminating stress and bringing one completely into the present moment.

As H. H. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar puts it, the Sudarshan Kriya came to him like an inspiration to bridge the gap between the worlds of inner silence and outer expression of life.

Nature is replete with various rhythms and cycles - day follows night, night follows day, seasons come and go. Similarly, there are biological rhythms to our bodies, minds and emotions. When these rhythms are in sync, we feel a sense of harmony and well-being. When stress or illness throws them out of order, we experience discomfort and discontent and feel upset and unhappy.

‘Su’ means proper, ‘darshan’ means vision, and ‘Kriya’ is a purifying practice. The Sudarshan Kriya is therefore a purifying practice, whereby one receives a proper vision of one’s true self. This unique breathing practice is a potent energizer.

Every cell becomes fully oxygenated and flooded with new life, bringing a sense of joy in the moment. And when we feel good about ourselves, love flows naturally in all our relationships with others.

The rhythmic breathing pattern of Sudarshan Kriya harmonizes the rhythms of the body and emotions and brings them in tune with the rhythms of nature. The breath connects the body and mind. Just as emotions affect our patterns of breathing, we can bring about changes in our mental and behavioral patterns by altering the rhythms of our breath. It flushes our anger, anxiety and worry; leaving the mind completely relaxed and energized.

SRI SRI EXPLAINS THE SUDARSHAN KRIYA

“I was already teaching meditation and yoga. But I felt there was something that was lacking. Though people do their spiritual practices, their life is in a sort of a compartment. They do their prayers, meditation and spiritual practices but when they come out in life, they are very different people. So, I was thinking how we can bridge this gap - between inner silence and outer expression of life. During a period of silence, the Sudarshan Kriya came like an inspiration. After I came out of the silence, I started teaching whatever i knew and people had great experiences."

"After kriya, many people feel so pure and so clear, so complete, because the consciousness, which was stuck in the matter, material, which is foreign to itself, got released from that and came back to its home. That is the sense of purity, feeling of purity."

"We need to do a cleansing process within ourselves. In sleep we get rid of fatigue, but the deeper stresses remain in our body. Sudarshan Kriya cleanses the system from the inside. The breath has a great secret to offer."

"Sudarshan Kriya is a breathing technique Combined with meditation.

See there is a rhythm in the nature, right? In the same way, there is a rhythm in the body. We have Physiological rhythm. Morning you have nature’s call, then you get hungry, then you feel sleepy. There is a particular bio rhythm we call. There’s a “chandasva”, what we call “chandha”. There is a rhythm in the mind also. Thought Pattern. And there is a rhythm in the emotional pattern. If you observe in one year, A particular time of the year, You feel differently. Anger, Interest or enthusiasm. They all come in certain patterns in life, in our spirit inside. Sudarshan kriya is harmonizing all these rhythms. So it brings that rhythm and takes about 6 days to learn, 2 hours each day."

Prana level (Life force energy) and Sudarshan Kriya

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar: There are ten types of Prana (the subtle life force energy). Of these, there are five major and five minor kinds of Prana. Today let me just talk about the five major types of Prana.

The first major type of Prana is called Prana which arises from your navel upwards to the top
of the head.

Then there is another type of Prana that goes downwards from the navel, and it is called Apana.

When the Prana level is too high, you cannot sleep; you can get insomnia and you feel very jittery. However, if the Apana level is too high, you feel so dull that you do not even want to get off the bed.

Have you had this experience? Sometimes you feel so heavy, gross, and dull. This is due to the imbalance of Apana.

The third type of Prana is Samana which is present as the digestive fire in the digestive system, i.e., in the stomach. It is the agni or the fire that helps digest the food.
Samana is that which helps indigestion, and it also helps other bodily systems. It helps in balancing the system.

Then there is Udana Vayu or Udana Prana which is somewhere near the heart region and is responsible for emotions.

In Sudarshan Kriya, people cry or they laugh, and you find that all these emotions well up. This is due to the Udana Vayu. So this Udana Vayu is responsible for all the emotions.

Then the fifth type of Prana called Vyana which is responsible for all the movement in the body. It is spread all over the body.

In Sudarshan Kriya, you feel some tingling, some energy all over the body. Have you all experienced this?

What happens in Sudarshan Kriya is, all the five Pranas get balanced, and that is why you cry, or you laugh, and you feel a tingling all over the body. That is the specialty of Sudarshan Kriya.

You also tend to feel very hungry after the Kriya, is it not so?

So, these five Prana in the body run our lives.
If Samana is imbalanced, then it gives rise to digestive problems, and you cannot digest the food properly, or you may experience nausea. All this happens because of an imbalance of the Samana Prana.

When Udana Prana is stuck, you feel an emotional block that also affects your thinking and your mind.

When the Vyana which is all over the body is imbalanced, then you have joint pain, or movement trouble, and either you become too jittery and restless, or you may feel like you do not want to do anything.

Moving around anywhere in such a state gives discomfort and creates restlessness in the body. All this is caused by the Vyana imbalance.

After Sudarshan Kriya, you would have noticed that all these imbalances go away. Has this not happened to all of you?

All earlier discomfort in the movements of the body, or its circulation, or some pains due to Vyana imbalance, all disappeared after Sudarshan Kriya

"Health is not a mere absence of disease. It is a dynamic expression of life – in terms of how joyful, loving and enthusiastic you are.”

Inhale Good Health, Everyday

When will you keep your leg on my head?

Q:It is said when Ramakrishna Paramahamsa kept his leg on Swami Vivekananda, he got the experience of samadhi. You have kept your hand on my hand so many times, when will you keep your leg on my head?

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji:
My dear, I have given you one of the most beautiful techniques, the Sudarshan Kriya. When you do it, you already get the same experience that Vivekananda got. This is exactly what that is! Vivekananda experienced some current and some nothingness, nothing more than that.

Hasn’t Sudarshan Kriya changed your whole outlook? There are two lives, one before Sudarshan Kriya and one after it. How many of you vouch for it? (Everyone in the audience raise their hands) See, everyone is raising their hands! You cannot even relate to that person before you did your Sudarshan Kriya. You cannot even say that it is the same person. That is why you feel like you have been born again.

When you are initiated into meditation, you have a new life. Some places they even give you a new name because you are not the same person anymore, you are totally transformed; you are different. Your vision has become broader, your approach has become much more intelligent, your perception much sharper and your heart much softer and stronger. I don’t have to keep my leg or hand or head on you. You have been given the tools by which you can uplift yourself. And not just one, you also have Shakti Kriya and Sahaj Samadhi meditation. All this has come from time to time.
The mind runs for new things all the time, and the heart longs for the old, it takes pride in the old. And so here you have both the old and the new. I have spoken about all the ancient scriptures, knowledge and new techniques.

Dream the impossible

I was looking for job opportunities in Bangalore and went home for a few days as I was feeling home sick. I was happy to see and meet my parents and friends but from inside I felt tensed, was thinking if I would get a job or not, and was constantly praying to Gurudev.

As I was at home, I was relaxed and had left my preparation for the interviews. All of a sudden, I got a call from an MNC saying that I had to attend their written exam the next day. I had to rush to Bangalore and didn’t have the time to prepare well, and couldn't go through my study notes even once as I was informed only the previous night.

Next morning when I reached at my room, I cried and asked Gurudev to be on my side. I completed my 1st round of exam which went on very well and the topics that I had revised long were asked. Finally I was happy.

After a week I got a call from the company asking me to attend the second round of the interview. I prepared well and went, but couldn't perform well. I was depressed and as I expected didn't get a call from them.

All my friends who attended interview with me got selected and I was feeling sad for a few days that I couldn't make it. Still I kept faith in Gurudev and moved on.

Dream the impossible
I was still looking out for jobs but inside still there was a little prick that I could not make it to my dream company. But surprisingly, after two weeks, the same MNC called me and told that though I did not do well in the second round.

I was still in the top 5 in the first round so they wanted to conduct another two rounds of interview for me. How could anybody who got rejected first, get a call again? I was so excited that day and it was nothing but Guru grace.

I couldn't believe myself, but one thing I promised Gurudev that I will not let go of this opportunity that my Master gave me and will completely utilise it. The next two rounds went pretty well and I finally got selected. I had Gurudev in my mind and tears in my eyes.

I just couldn't believe how the opportunity that had left me, came to me again. Gurudev is there for me, for every body. All we need to do is to keep up his vision for violence free, stress-free world and live a life with faith, trust and love. Jai Guru Dev.

Why there is so much attachment to the body?

Question - Gurudev, even after death, a man in the form of a soul keeps on looking for a body. Why there is so much attachment to the body?

Gurudev Sri Sri - This is because the body is the instrument of carrying out one's Dharma (one's duties or karma). It is said, 'Sharira madhyam Dharma-khalu sadhanam. It means that if one has to carry out one's duties or one's karma, it can only be done through the means of the physical body. Those who are Asariri - meaning without the physical body - cannot do it. That is the reason even the Demigods (Devas) have to take a human form to carry out their Dharma for attaining liberation.

I feel frustrated in my life. I don't wish to live anymore. Please help me come out of these suicidal tendencies.

Question - Gurudev, I feel frustrated in my life. I don't wish to live anymore. Please help me come out of these suicidal tendencies.

Gurudev Sri Sri - Be of my use, you are here for me, do my work, until I stamp you can't sign off. Desires are endless, Don't make desires your aim. I am always with you. If you get thoughts of committing suicide, know that it is just your prana which is low, so do more pranayama and meditation. A deep desire to live without problems makes one commit suicide. When life is just a game, and you have really lived life, then you embrace death naturally when it comes. When you feel sad, depressed, suicidal or unhappy, at that moment you should say, ‘Let me stop thinking about myself. Let me see what I can do here. Anyway, one day I must go. Before I go, let me do something good here. Who needs me? Where can I help?’ You should do more courses and spend more time in Satsang. Also should keep themselves busy and engage in some seva (service) activity.

I tend to seek appreciation in whatever I do. How to get rid of this?

Question -Gurudev, I tend to seek appreciation in whatever I do. How to get rid of this?

Gurudev Sri Sri - You came to know about this, that itself is one step ahead. Now, make a determination that you don't care whether someone appreciates or not. 'Let me do what I need to do, and not worry about others'. That is it, then you will gain the strength needed.

If I don't feel guilty will the law of karma have any effect?

Question - Gurudev, sometimes I feel guilty for not feeling guilty. If I don't feel guilty will the law of karma have any effect?

Gurudev Sri Sri - You don't need to worry about it. You don't have to force guilt on yourself. Actually the case is, deep inside you are feeling guilty. But you are trying to brush it off, and this is what the problem is. If you really don't feel guilty, you will not feel guilty about not feeling guilty at all. It is because you are feeling a little guilty, and you are trying to push it away, which is creating a conflict in you. So what you need to do is, simply accept it. Accept the mistake and whatever you need to do for remedial measures, you do it.
Once you accept the mistake and want to do some remedial measures, then you will find peace within yourself. But if you brush off the mistake and act as if it never happened, or you didn't do it, it is then that the prick starts from within. So the first step is to accept, and then to do some. Lord Krishna played the role of a Guru to Arjuna. In Lord Krishna's life, what role did Arjuna play? What role can a disciple play in Guru's life?

Question - Gurudev, Lord Krishna played the role of a Guru to Arjuna. In Lord Krishna's life, what role did Arjuna play? What role can a disciple play in Guru's life?

Gurudev Sri Sri - There can be only two types of disciples : the easy disciple, and the tough disciple. The tough ones are hard nuts to crack. It will take a long time for the tough ones to get the point. The easy ones are those who know, who become sensitive, and who get it. You can say, like a buffalo or a cow. If you just shout 'Aye' to a cow, it understands and moves forward. But for a buffalo, you have to take a big bamboo stick and hit it lightly to really get it to move, only then it will move. Or you have to literally come and push it with your hands. So these are the two types of disciples. Ones who listens easily and gets it, and who is sensitive, The other doesn't listen, and takes a long time to get the point.

What do you think we should be doing differently?

Question - Gurudev, with the media reporting crime and negativity around the world, what do you think is their responsibility towards this violence that is happening? What do you think we should be doing differently?

Gurudev Sri Sri - I think the media has two important roles to play. One is to place the facts in front of the people as they are. At the same time create hope in people for the future. You know, the present scenario can be very depressing. The media has to take responsibility not to create more depression in society. They have to give people hope. Suppose there is a riot, or a crisis, or a war, in that situation also there is hope, there are good people on the planet who are doing some very good work, this must be highlighted. Otherwise when you open the newspaper, all you see is bad news, which is depressing. The people feel that there is no hope in life because the world is so bad. The citizen of this world will not label society as bad or hopeless. This can happen only when they are not bombarded with negative news all the time. So, media will have to balance this out. Create hope, at the same time keep the reality in front of people.

What should we do for the mentally retarded people? Can healing be given to them?

Question - Gurudev, what should we do for the mentally retarded people? Can healing be given to them?

Gurudev Sri Sri - Some remand home should be made for them. There are mentally retarded homes owned by the government. They should be kept there. Don't encourage the practice of giving them food on the roads. We should not make them beggars on the roads. Don't give healing. These people have come to receive service from you. So even after giving healing they will remain the same, and then you might start doubting the healing. You might think, 'Oh, I am giving healing to him every day and nothing is happening'. So instead of healing, do service to them.

Should we only wear traditional clothes?

Question - Gurudev, you have spoken much about food and the breath. Would you like to say something about clothes as well? Should we only wear traditional clothes?

Gurudev Sri Sri - Wear comfortable clothes, but I do not prefer wearing those torn clothes and jeans for which you pay so much money. It looks so shabby. I have heard that if there are holes in the jeans, you have to pay more money for that! This you should not do. Cotton is the best fabric. If it is mixed with a little bit of polyester, it is also okay, But only polyester should be avoided. I would prefer that people avoid leather. Do you know just for leather, so many animals are slaughtered? All this should be done away with. It is said, ‘Ahimsa paramo-dharma’, (Non-violence in all action is the supreme duty or Dharma). Everyone should walk the path of non-violence and be a vegetarian. This is very necessary. Only then will you be able to meditate well.

How can one bring peace to a relationship

Question - Gurudev, as you are very much aware of this fact that people in relationships do get into conflicts at times. How can one bring peace to such a relationship with a lot of conflicts and arguments? Should we move away from such a relationship or stay put in that relationship?

Gurudev Sri Sri - There are 3 ways to handle such situations :

1. Move away from that place at that time - because when everybody is angry, things are heating up, everyone goes deaf. Angry people do not listen to anyone. The best thing is move away a little bit and wait for things to cool down and then resolve the differences.

2. Be there, with patience - First, agree with the person, say, 'Yes, I agree with you. Suppose your husband or wife is arguing with you, don't say, 'No', instead say, 'Yes, you are right, I agree with you. The moment you agree, the temperature comes down. Then in a little gap, as the temperature comes down, say, 'But, this is the secret. Sometimes people come to me with big ideas. I tell them, 'Your idea is brilliant, very good, but it is impractical. Use your skill to calm the situation, and then get across what you want to the other person.

3. You may be thinking of asking me if one should go for a divorce as a last resort if that is the situation of the relationship you are in? I would say No, not at all. But if your relationship comes to such a stage that it becomes difficult for both partners to continue ahead, if your lives become a living hell because of it, and if no amount of attempts can save your relationship, then I would ask both the partners to peacefully part ways and move ahead with their individual lives.

But first both partners must give their 100% to make amends and improve the relationship before taking the decision to go for a divorce. One should understand that marriage is a commitment. Give your 100% to make the marriage work. If two people want to give happiness to each other, it will work, if two people want to get happiness from each other, it's going to break down.

What is the best and easy way to please God and be closer to Him?

Question - Gurudev, what is the best and easy way to please God and be closer to Him?

Gurudev Sri Sri - If a baby asks, 'What can I do to please my mother?' The mother is already pleased with the baby. Whatever the baby does, the mother is happy. My dear, God is already pleased with you. Just keep your heart clean, mind focused and put your 100% in any work that you do. When you are sincere, smiling and serving, God is pleased with you. Remember 3S - sincerity, smile and service.

I am a web engineer. I want to ask, what is the connection between spirituality and internet technology? How can spirituality use this web?

Question - Gurudev, I’m a web engineer. I want to ask, what is the connection between spirituality and internet technology? How can spirituality use this web?

Gurudev Sri Sri - Yesterday you saw that we had a webcast of our satsang, and so many people connected to us from around the world. We had people connect from more than seventy countries. You should definitely use the internet, write blogs, and make people aware of it. Today because of internet you can get any information. If you want to know a verse from Rig-Veda, you don't have to go to the library and look for it. Just go to the internet and you can download it from there.
So the internet has made knowledge available at the tip of your fingers. It should be used. We are all linked through one net from inside, that is inter-net.

How to love someone who I do not understand?

Question - Gurudev, how to love someone who I do not understand?

Gurudev Sri Sri - As a baby is born, it looks into its mother's eyes, and starts loving the mother. The baby does not know anything about the mother. It does not know the name of the mother, or the school she went to, what subjects she studied, or how old she is. The baby does not even care, it does not even know. In the same way, the puppy or the dog in your house does not know you. If the dog knew you, perhaps it would not love you.

I think I am addicted to meditation. Is it bad to be addicted to something awesome like meditation?

Question - Gurudev, I think I am addicted to meditation. Is it bad to be addicted to something awesome like meditation?

Gurudev Sri Sri - You can't say that you are addicted to compassion, it is a wrong word to use since it is an integral part of your life. Similarly, you can't say that I am so addicted to being clean, I am addicted to brushing my teeth. Just like brushing is dental hygiene, meditation is mental hygiene. Yes, you should not be obsessed with it. Suppose you could not meditate for one day, do not make a big issue out of it by getting upset or angry, never mind. Once in a while, like once in two years, it is okay. You should not feel guilty about it. However, missing meditation should not become a regular thing. Missing it three times a week is not very advisable.

They say marriages are made in heaven, but why after this heavenly arrangement, does hell start on earth?

Question - Gurudev, they say marriages are made in heaven, but why after this heavenly arrangement, does hell start on earth?

Gurudev Sri Sri - Contrast. Knowledge comes in opposition. Just like a baby cannot be created by one person, hell also cannot be created by one person. Whether heaven or hell, it needs two to create it.

In the yoga sutra, it is said, yoga is the restraint of the chitta (consciousness). How can restraining the mind or memory bring freedom?

Question - Gurudev, in the yoga sutra, it is said, yoga is the restraint of the chitta (consciousness). How can restraining the mind or memory bring freedom?

Gurudev Sri Sri - It's the mind that causes bondage. It's the mind which clings on to things, or clings on to the dreams. Even after you wake up, the palpitation is happening in the body, because you had a nightmare. But when the mind realizes that it's a dream and it comes out of it, then there is relief. So mind is the cause for bondage and mind is the cause for liberation also.

The truth that leads to liberation.

THE FOUR NOBLE TRUTHS & EIGHT FOLD PATH

Dhamma or teachings of the Buddha – the truth that leads to liberation.

1. Life is suffering (Dukkha) – our desires and expectations do not conform to the reality of the world, which is in a constant state of flux (Anicca), so we experience Dukkha.

2. The origin of suffering is attachment – not only do we fail to know reality but we mis-know it. We attribute permanence to impermanence. The physical universe is constant change, but we know it as permanent – change is the only thing there is. Our ideas, the objects that surround us, and our perceptions, are all transient.

Even our idea of “self” is a delusion since there is no permanent self. Craving and clinging to these inevitably leads to suffering.

3. It is possible to end suffering in this life – Like the moksha in Hinduism, nibbana can be realized in life, through discipline and effort. Nibbana means freedom from troubles, worries, ideas, and the annihilation of the illusion of the self where one understands Dhamma – the Buddha’s teaching and becomes an arahant.

4. The path to cessation of suffering – The Middle Way – is a path between the extremes of clinging and aversion, both expressions of attachment, arriving at a state of complete equanimity. It is achieved through the Eightfold Path
.
THE EIGHTH FOLD PATH

Summa – “right,” or that which promotes the end of suffering has traditionally been divided into three sections:

A. STUDY – CULTIVATING WISDOM

1. Right Understanding – a person becomes acquainted with the basic principles of Dhamma, the Buddha’s teachings, and enters the path, gradually awakening an understanding of the wisdom he or she can attain at the end.

2. Right Intention – One contemplates the desire for all beings to be happy and free from suffering. One cultivates goodwill, harmlessness and non-attachment, avoiding tendencies towards greed, hatred and harm.

B. ETHICAL CONDUCT – DEVELOPING MORAL CONDUCT

3. Right Speech – I will refrain from false speech – not only lying or slandering, but gossip, cursing, swearing or meaningless babble. I will communicate in kind, gentle and direct speech.

4. Right Action – there are 5 precepts of non-harming (ahimsa) – these are ideals that one vows to live by: to refrain from harming sentient beings; to refrain from taking what is not offered; to refrain from sexual misconduct; to refrain from false speech; to refrain from stupefying drink.

5. Right Livelihood – to earn a living in a way that benefits humanity
.
C. MENTAL DEVELOPMENT – DISCIPLINING THE MIND

By ‘Mind’ the Buddha meant the totality of thoughts, sensations, feeling and consciousness, that are experienced at each moment.

The mind has great potential, but the undeveloped mind is like a wild horse: difficult to stay attentive, it craves stimulation, jumping from thought to thought, dwelling in the past or in the future, with thoughts that often cause anxiety or fear. When this undisciplined mind does pay attention to the present, it does so with opinions and emotional reactions rather than being in the present. To bring the mind under control is necessary, but it requires patience, skill, and persistent training.

6. Right Effort – since deluded thinking hinders the ability to understand the world, the student pays deliberate attention to developing positive thoughts that alleviate suffering and to letting go negative ones, he or she practices generosity and patience.

7. Right Mindfulness – taking meditative awareness into everyday life. Doing so can restrain the mind’s proclivity to make immediate judgments, reduce its tendency to need stimulation, and sharpen its awareness in the present moment.

8. Right Concentration – it is necessary to take time each day to practice meditative awareness.

These eight elements are symbolized by a wheel and practiced simultaneously, since the practice of one supports the practice of the others. The Buddha maintained that one could develop the virtues described as one would develop any skill, with regular practice.

Be spontaneous

ARE YOU HAPPY? FIND WHAT GURU JI SAYS

"Every living creature wants to be happy. Whether it is money, power or sex, you seek it for the sake of happiness. Some people even seem to enjoy misery because it gives them happiness!

To be happy, you seek something. But despite getting it, you are not happy. A schoolboy thinks that if he goes to college, he will be more independent, free and, therefore, happy. When you ask a college student whether he is happy, he feels that if he gets a job, he will be happy. Talk to somebody who is settled in his job or business, and you may find that he is waiting to get a perfect soul mate to be happy. Then what? When he gets a soul mate, he now wants a child, to be happy. Ask those who have children, if they are happy. They respond that how can they relax until the children have grown up and have had a good education and are successfully settled on their own? Ask those who are retired if they are happy? They long for the days when they were younger.

All of one's life is spent in preparing to be happy someday in the future. It's like making your bed all night, but having no time to sleep in it. How many minutes, hours and days of your life have you spent being happy from within? Those are the only moments you have really lived life. Those were perhaps the days when you were a small kid, completely blissful and happy or a few moments when you were surfing, swimming or sailing or on a mountain top, living in the present and enjoying it.

There are two ways of looking at life. One is thinking: "I'll be happy after achieving a certain objective." The second is saying: "I am happy come what may!" Which one do you want to live by? Life is 80% joy and 20% misery. But you hold on to the 20% and make it 200%! It is not a conscious act, it just happens.

Living in the moment with joy, alertness, awareness and compassion is enlightenment. Being like a child is enlightenment. It is being free from within, feeling at home with everybody, without barriers.

Every act in life is an expression of happiness or an expectation of it. For the wise person, it is an expression, not expectation.

Don't judge and don't worry about what others think of you. Whatever they think, it is not permanent. Your own opinion about things and people keeps changing all the time. So why worry about what others think about you? Worrying takes a toll on the body, mind, intellect and alertness. It is like an obstruction that takes you far away from yourself. It brings fear, and fear is nothing but the lack of love. It is an intense sense of isolation.

Our breath is linked to our emotions. For every emotion, there is a particular rhythm in the breath. So, when you cannot directly harness your emotions, with the help of breath you can do that.

Relaxing through meditation and breathing exercises can handle this. When one is relaxed, one realizes that they are loved, and connected to everybody, and are a part of the whole universe. This will liberate you and the mind will completely shift. You will then find so much harmony around.

To find harmony, it is not as if you have to physically seek it by sitting somewhere for years. Whenever you are in love, your mind is in the present, you feel joyous. At some level, to some degree, everybody is meditating without being aware of it. There are moments when your body, mind and breath are all in harmony. That's when you achieve yoga.

Remembering happiness or craving happiness is past or future.
The Art of Living lies in the present moment. Happiness is in the present moment and it is your very nature

Happiness is something which has not left anyone untouched. We all know what happiness is. But it is very fragile. Now you are happy. Just one nasty phone call, are you still able to keep your happiness? One nasty phone call and your happiness is gone. Your happiness is fragile.

What is that that can make our happiness stronger? I call that Wisdom. When one accepts things and moves in knowledge then the happiness dawns in the mind. If wisdom cannot remove your misery and bring happiness, nothing else can. There is no happiness in the world which you cannot get by being on the path of wisdom, when you taste it everything else seems bitter

A beautiful combination -- of being happy and alert and focused at the same time -- can be experienced in spiritual life . The goal of spirituality is to bring such happiness which nobody can take away from you.

The highest level of happiness happens when the soul is united with the Divine. When there is no duality, no two, when you are in deep meditation, then you experience this innermost joy. It is only through inner silence can you bring out happiness and celebration in life.

Your difficulties appear to be very big, lift your eyes because you are only focused on yourself. If you lift your eyes up and look at others who have difficulties, you will suddenly feel your burden is not as bad as you thought earlier. If you think you have some big problem, look at people who have a greater problem. Suddenly, you will get confidence that my problem is much smaller, and I can manage it.

Look at your own life. In the past, you had many problems. They have all come and gone. Know that even this will go and you do have the energy and power to overcome it. You will get self-confidence by understanding and looking at your own past.

Be spontaneous. Spontaneity will come when you take a few minutes to go deep within yourself. There is nothing great in smiling when everything is normal, and when everything is going the way you want. But if you awaken the valor inside of you, and say, ‘Come what may, I am going to keep smiling’, you will notice tremendous energy, will rise from within you. And the problem is nothing; it just comes and disappears.

Have faith in a higher power. Do you know, in anger we usually say, ‘I give up.’ Without frustration or anger say, ‘I give this problem up, and I cannot solve it, let the Divine help me.’ And know that you will always be helped. Have the confidence that you will be helped. A power in the universe is going to help you.

What are you waiting for? Instead of preparing to be happy, be happy now and resolve to remain naturally happy. God is trying his best to see you happy. But God only helps those who help themselves.

So every day make a resolution. “Today, I am just going to be happy come what may. I will not let anything disturb my happiness. I am going to be contented, happy.”

Be Happy Now........This is Blessing and an Order.

NO REGRETS NO FEAR NO ANXIETY

8 QUOTES FROM SHIV SUTRAS

Millennials want more out of life. Many times experiences teach them how to go about life. Many times, the elders and peer group help them find out about life. Whatever be the means, the beauty of youth is that they believe they can get more out of life. We agree too!

Do you think you can benefit from ancient scripture too? Do you think you can live fully, an enriched life with some valuable insights provided by the seers of the past? If yes, then here are 8 best quotes with the explanation from the ancient scripture of Shiva Sutras for today’s youth to lead a more fulfilled and meaningful life!

QUOTE 1: “WHEN WE INVEST 100 PERCENT OF OUR ENERGY IN ANY ACTION, THERE WILL BE NO REGRETS, AND WHEN THERE ARE NO REGRETS THERE IS NO FEAR OR ANXIETY.”

When we put in our best efforts, we do not worry whether or not our work will be successful. What does worry mean? It means that we have not worked to the best of our ability. Imagine that you are playing football or running a race. If you put in your full energy, you will have no regrets. If you do not put in your 100 percent, then you may think, “Oh! I could have done better.” A person who puts his absolute effort knows, “How could I have done better? I did my best and am prepared to accept the results. If I get the fruits I will be fine, and if not, then too I will be happy.”

When you completely apply your energy, use all the possible actions , speech, and mind, you experience fulfillment. Thus there is no regret.

QUOTE 2: “THE GOAL OF LIFE IS TO RADIATE HAPPINESS FROM EACH AND EVERY CELL OF YOUR BEING.”

A child’s mind is innocent and calm, with high awareness. But as we grow this is lost. Thanks to stress, pressure, we easily lose the sense of a bigger picture. In fact, this is life’s goal: it should end where it began, and life is a cycle that starts with happiness. That happiness is not limited to us but spreads to all who come near us. Such happiness is a sign of true success.

QUOTE 3: “WORDS ARE THE ROOT CAUSE OF WORRY.”

If you are someone who likes details or are curious by nature, then you will enjoy doing this next activity: Carefully observe and distinguish the different ideas, thoughts or worries that arise in your mind. Then observe one thought, then one sentence and then one word. Then separate that one word into letters and look at each letter carefully. When you do this, you realize that words often lead to resentments, misunderstanding and are a cause to subsequent emotion after they are spoken. So, when you consciously develop the habit of breaking down words, you will come to realize that worry can be tackled. Practice and some meditation will make your worries disappear.

With practice, you will understand that when we hold onto the silence that is in between words, worries vanish. Where there is no sound or words, there are no worries because words are the root cause of worry.

QUOTE 4 “ONLY WITH COURAGE, CAN YOU MOVE FORWARD.”

Have courage, patience, and forbearance. It is not possible to become fit after only one day of doing exercise, pranayama and yoga asanas. Similarly, your mind will also not change in one day. It takes time and patience. Your mind has come into its present form over so many years. Now give it some time to change. Do not blame yourself if you fail.

QUOTE 5 “LIVE YOUR LIFE WITH WONDER.”

Have you observed a curious child, around six-months-old? A baby examines its hands and fingers with amazement as though it were seeing something amazing. The baby is just looking at its hand! When a child sees a leaf it asks, “why is it green?”. No sooner than you reply, he asks, “why is the sky blue?”, “why does an elephant have a trunk?”. Often even parents do not have answers to their questions. A deeper secret to an enriched life is the virtue of wonderment. Wonderment in joyous as well as challenging times.

Wonder is a sign of life! Look at yourself with wonder. Observe your mind and see how mischievous it is! Is it not enough just to have a mind for you to wonder about? It is not steady, even for a second – the thought that is present one moment is gone the next moment. A consciousness in wonder is the foundation for yoga. Out of this consciousness, innocence is born.

QUOTE 6 “YOU WILL FIND STRENGTH WHEN YOU REST IN YOUR SELF.”

Whether others pay attention to you or ignore you, pay attention to yourself. You are paying attention to others; you would be better off if you turned your attention to yourself. You worry about what others think of you. Drop this attitude. If you turn your attention inwards, it will become a source of strength. Everywhere we struggle to find happiness, which is nothing but your own nature. You yourself are the strength you search for; you are a power-house of energy.

QUOTE 7 “IN THE STATE OF PURITY, A SENSE OF BELONGINGNESS ARISES IN YOU.”

When you mix water and oil, they do not blend – the water never feels that the oil is of its own nature, and the oil does not accept the water. This is impurity; such a mixture is called impure water or impure oil. Water and milk mix well and become one. Sugar and water blend well; they have a good relationship. Sugar dissolves and becomes one with water. If we have that principle of purity, we feel a sense of belongingness with everyone. The feeling of separation disappears.

QUOTE 8 “YOU CAN FIND PEACE ONLY WHEN YOU ENTER INTO YOUR OWN MIND.”

You keep entering the minds of other people, wondering what they are thinking about you or what they are saying about you. As soon as you wake up, you start wondering about what you should say to someone: “What will they think about me? What reply should I give him?” 75 percent of the thoughts that appear in your mind are about others.

A person who is absorbed in one’s own self does not worry or think too much. You may have observed that the face of a peaceful person is full of consciousness and enthusiasm. If the same person starts worrying, the worry will show. On his face, wrinkles will appear and he will grow pale. Although work might make you tired, a person withers because of worry, not because of work, is it not? So learn to be absorbed. How? Through meditation, by consciously doing nothing.

Eighteen chapters of your life

Q: Thousands of years ago (at the time of the Mahabharata), people had the same problems as what we have today. There is not much difference.

Gurudev HH Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji:-
Thousands of years ago also, there was a new moon and there was a full moon, there was winter and there was spring. So in everyone’s life also, the 18 chapters of the Bhagavad Gita happen.

•The first chapter is where you regret and say, "I am powerless and I give up".

•The second chapter in your life is when someone wakes you up and says, "Hey come on! There’s nothing to regret in life. There is something in you that doesn’t change andyou have the power to sail over all this". Then you wake up and you felt good.

•The third chapter tells you to act. Don’t sit and worry, ‘What about me? What about me? 'Go and act, this is Karma Yoga.

•The fourth chapter tells you, now that you are acting you must also listen to knowledge.Don’t become like a machine and only act, listen to knowledge as well. There is something beyond all this.

•The fifth chapter tells you about material and spiritual knowledge. You cannot say, "Everything is being done and there is nothing for me to do", or you cannot think, "I am doing everything. I did this and I did that". This is not going to work for you. Wake up and see, are things happening or are you really doing it?

•Then the sixth chapter is when you learn to meditate.

•The seventh chapter tells you, now that you’re meditating, you should know the author of meditation - the one who is meditating in you. 'Who am I? What is time?' Knowing all about science.

•Like that it goes on! When you meditate miracles happen in your life. Wake up and see the miracles! Many don’t observe miracles, nor believe in it. If you recognize it and believe in it then it happens even more! Give a chance for miracles to happen, don’t be so steeped in the material cause and effect - 'I did this so this will happen', or 'I did that and only that will happen', no! You did it but something else can also happen out of the blue! Recognizing that ‘something different’ is Vibhuti. Vibhuti means giving a chance for miracles in your life, exploring it.

•Then after that is knowing the universal self and knowing that everything is in me and I am in everything.

•Then comes love and devotion. You know and understand all this, but then what? It is not enough. You should be in deep love! When you know that the divine loves you, you cannot but fall in love with the divine! That’s the 12th chapter.

•Then you understand what are the divine qualities and what are the demonic qualitiesand you realize that you have all the divine qualities in you.

•Then there are the three qualities or Gunas (Sattvic, Rajasic and Tamasic) to everything: mind, ego and food. Sattvic ego is, "I am everything and everybody". The Tamasic ego is knowing that you are only this body, and the Rajasic ego is having a limited mindset and falling into craving and aversion.

•The final chapter is knowing that you cannot wash your own sins. Drop them and understand what is being said, "I am here to take care of your sins. Feel that you are mine, be connected to me and I will take care of everything. Just relax!’ This is sanyaasa or liberation.
These are the 18 chapters and these chapters are all a part of everybody’s life.Sometimes we don’t reach up to the 18th chapter. It takes many lifetimes to reach there!

Vibration

About 30 years ago, Japanese researcher Masaru Imodo discovered the world of Hado. He treated more than ten thousand clients with a Hado measuring device and water, and helped heal many people who had different kinds of problems, mentally and physically. He knew that water could memorize information, so he devised water crystal photography to prove his theory, and succeeded. If two forks are tuned to the same note, then they resonate together. This is how energy is transmitted into two vibrating objects of the same natural frequency. Two forks that are slightly tuned to different frequencies, despite two Hertz differences, are not conducting or resonating with each other.

In the 1920s, an American scientist named Dr. Royal Raymond Rife developed a Rife frequency generator machine. The Rife machine produced low energy waves, also called radio frequency electromagnetic fields, which have low energy compared to x-rays or radiotherapy, which have high power. In 1934, a USC team of physicians led by Dr. Johnson transferred 16 terminally ill patients from a San Diego hospital to the Scripps estate in La Jolla, California, where they were subjected to the frequencies recommended by Dr. Rife for 90 days. Within 70 days, the USC team declared 14 patients clinically cured. The other two took 20 days longer.

Associate Professor and Director of Music at Skidmore College, Anthony Holland, a composer interested in the physical effects of sound, decided to learn the impact of audio frequencies in microbiology. Holland and his team searched for the exact frequency that would directly shatter a living microorganism. The magic number finally came from two inputs: high frequency and low frequency. After practicing until they got efficient at the procedure, Holland began working with a team of cancer researchers to destroy targeted cancer cells. First, they looked at pancreatic cancer cells, eventually discovering that these cells were specifically vulnerable between 100,000 and 300,000 Hertz. In repeated and controlled experiments, the frequencies known as oscillating pulsed electric field technology killed an average of 25 to 40 percent of leukemia cells, going as high as 60 percent in some cases. Furthermore, the intervention even slowed cancer cell growth rates by up to 65 percent. The team also found success in attacking ovarian cancer cells. Most recently, they tested the treatment against the deadly superbug MRSA, an organism resistant to many common antibiotics. Holland explains that thousands of people die yearly from MRSA, and the drugs usually used against the pathogen are known to have toxic side effects. Incredibly, the frequency therapy eliminated antibiotic resistance, and researchers were able to introduce a small number of antibiotics to kill the bug.

There is also evidence for a whole new type of medicine in which DNA can be influenced and reprogrammed by words and frequencies, without cutting out and replacing single genes. Jordiev and his team successfully transformed frog embryos to salamander embryos simply by transmitting the DNA information pattern through frequency alone. Jordiev's research group proved that this method can repair chromosomes damaged by x-rays, for example, and can even capture information patterns of a particular DNA and transmit it to another, reprogramming cells to another genome. According to Russian researchers, our DNA is not only responsible for the construction of our body, but also serves as data storage and communication.

Dr. Lee Bartel, a professor emeritus of music and health and music education, is a leading researcher and expert on how sound can affect our cells. He explores how sound can stimulate cells in our body and brain to reduce the impact of fibromyalgia pain, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and depression, and even increase blood flow. He explains how stimulus pulses affect multiple levels of bodily functions and brain patterns, even to the point of intrabrain communication, helping one side of the brain synchronize with the other. Sound therapy has been shown to help kids who had gone through cancer treatments renew gamma activity and treat sleep disorders. It can also re-regulate brain circuits and cellular function rather than just brain states.

When we encounter a sound, such as a click, compressions of air molecules come to our ear and translate into an electric impulse that is sent to our brain. When sound is measured in Hertz, 40 per second is called 40 Hertz, and the brain wave is also measured in the same way as Hertz. This is how gamma brain waves are measured at 40 per second or 40 Hertz. These methods are applied to Alzheimer's patients and those who experience depression with satisfying results. Dr. Bartel describes the methods for each and includes details about longevity and how the results are cumulative, yet need constant exposure to the pulse stimulus for the treatment to continue.

NOW WHY SUCH A LONG PROLOGUE. Simple, We Indians do not value our ancients unless we see the west "proving" it.

Our ancients knew this all along.

A mantra as simple as AUM / OM chanted at different frequencies can have different effects. Two known and studied frequencies are 528 Hz and 417 Hz. 528 Hz is also known as the "Miracle" frequency and is said to be capable of repairing DNA, promoting cell regeneration.417 Hz, on the other hand, is known as the "Resonance" frequency and is said to aid in facilitating change, removing negative energy. And in old Gurukuls, the disciples are taught to chant in specific tones in order to perfect their chanting So goes Gayatri mantra, Maha Mrityunjaya mantra and Sudarshan Kriya.

We mock our Yagnas and Homams. Yagnas are found to reduce the microbial count in the surrounding air potentially leading to a reduction in airborne molecules. This is to bring the surroundings of all ill person in harmony or as Japanese Hado, bring the objects in same frequential resonance. This along with mantras like Maha Mrityunjaya mantra in specific tones in big group of saints are nothing but to heal an ailing body.

We have had incorporated these in daily lives be with meditation with OM Chanting.

"Aa" - The frequency of "Aa" is around 432 Hz and corresponds to the lower chakras, including the root and sacral chakras. It is said to help with grounding and connecting to the physical body.

"OU" - The frequency of "OU" is around 528 Hz and corresponds to the heart chakra. It is said to help with healing, love, and compassion.

"Mm" - The frequency of "Mm" is around 639 Hz and corresponds to the throat chakra. It is said to help with communication and self-expression.

And be it Musical notes :

Sa - corresponds to the root chakra (muladhara)
Ri - corresponds to the sacral chakra (svadhishthana)
Ga - corresponds to the solar plexus chakra (manipura)
Ma - corresponds to the heart chakra (anahata)
Pa - corresponds to the throat chakra (vishuddha)
Dha - corresponds to the third eye chakra (ajna)
Ni - corresponds to the crown chakra (sahasrara)

OR be with the calm and quite mitha bhasha samskaram in Sanskrit as words carry energy, and the intention behind the words conveys the vibration. Not that using any old word is all fine, but the energy you put behind a word will carry the meaning more deeply. Every molecule or atom in this universe vibrates at a particular frequency

Bhela is another important figure in the history of Ayurveda

Bhela is another important figure in the history of Ayurveda, the traditional Indian system of medicine. He is believed to have been a physician and scholar who lived during the early centuries of the Common Era.

Bhela is best known for his authorship of the Bhela Samhita, which is a text that focuses on the practical aspects of Ayurvedic diagnosis and treatment. This text is considered to be one of the "Laghu Trayi" or "Small Triad" of Ayurvedic texts, along with the Kashyapa Samhita and the Harita Samhita. Together, these three texts provide detailed descriptions of Ayurvedic principles and practices, including herbal remedies, dietary recommendations, and disease prevention strategies.

The Bhela Samhita is particularly notable for its emphasis on the use of herbal medicines in Ayurvedic treatment. It includes detailed descriptions of hundreds of different herbs and their therapeutic properties, and it provides guidance on how to prepare and administer herbal remedies for various ailments.

Overall, Bhela's contributions to Ayurveda have been significant, and his teachings continue to inform the practice of Ayurvedic medicine today. The Bhela Samhita, in particular, remains an important text for Ayurvedic practitioners and scholars around the world
