Brahma Muhurta and its Significance in Meditation and Health

The son born to Kashyapa brahama and vinitha devi is Anurudu. He is the chariot of Lord Sun. Vinitha devi was very anxious to his son. Before the birth of Anurudu she had taken him out of her womb so he was born with incomplete body.
Lord Brahma appointed the child as a chariot of Lord Sun and blessed with the boon. The time when he was on the earth is known as brahma time period. During that time period not even a single stars or planet can cause any harm or influence any ill effect.

Usually, Brahma Muhurtham indicates the time between 3 hours before to the sun rise time. For example if sun rise is at 5:45 am, Brahma Muhurtham is between 2:45 and 5:45.Ayurveda has always propagated the importance of early morning rituals. During this time, our mind and body is relaxed after a good night's sleep. Even the environment is peaceful and unpolluted. Hence, Brahma Muhurta (an hour and half before sunrise) is the best time to practice yoga or meditation.
"Morning is an important time of day, because how you spend your morning can often tell you what kind of day you are going to have."

Since childhood, it has been inculcated in our minds that getting up early and going to bed early is the secret to a healthy life. Research has shown that, early birds tend to be fitter and happier than night owls. They get more work done, tend to put on less weight, and are more organized. Our body clock aligns with nature's clock if we get up before sunrise. Ayurveda also says that, starting our day before sunrise has numerous physical and spiritual benefits. Our mind and body is fresh after a good night's sleep. Concentration is also very high in the morning. The environment is peaceful and unpolluted. Brahma is known as the creator of the universe. Hence, Brahma Muhurata is called the Creator's Hour. There is purity in the air and our mind, which makes it the perfect time to pray to the Almighty.
According to Ayurveda, there are three doshas in our body: vata (air) , kapha (earth and water), and pitta (fire). The kapha dosha is from sunrise (around 6 am) to 10 am. Getting up during this dosha may lead to sluggish bowel movements. Pitta dosha follows from 10 am to 2 pm, and vata from 2 pm to 6 pm. The same cycle repeats again in the evening; kapha from 6 pm to 10 pm, pitta from 10 pm to 2 am, and finally vata from 2 am to 6 am. Getting up in the vata dosha state ensures proper bowel movements. Exercising or doing yoga is also easier during this state.
How to Calculate Brahma Muhurta
The period of 1 hour 36 minutes before sunrise is called the Brahma Muhurta. You will have to subtract this period from the time of your local sunrise to find out the actual Brahma Muhurta. For example, if the sun rises at 6 am, 4.24 am to 6 am is the Brahma Muhurta. The exact time will differ in different seasons too.
Getting up late makes us lazy and dull. We perform better when our body clock is aligned with nature's clock. Early morning positivity keeps us charged the entire day. Meditating in the morning is also easier, as there is no mental disturbance caused due to the vibrations of other people.
