Suvarnaprashan is described in Ayurved for children up to 12 years age. It is an important Ayurvedic oral tonic which has to be administered to every child.

Definition :

Suvarna means Gold.

Prashan means to lick.

Licking of properly processed gold in form of avaleha is called Suvarnaprashan.

(That is why we make suvarnaprashan in a lickable form or Prash form which is semisolid like chyavanprash.)

When to give?

Daily early morning (called regular suvarnaprashan which is given daily for a month or two or more if recommended by your vaidya)

Or

At least on every pushya nakshatra day which comes after every 27 days with varying times according to indian hindu calendar.

Benefits:

Maharshi Kashyap who was an ancient Indian paediatrician describes:

"Suvarnaprashanm hi tat

Medhagni-bala-vardhanam |

Ayushyam-mangalam-punyam

Vrushyam-grahapaham |

Masat param medhavi

Vyadhibhir na drushyate |

Shadbhihi masaih

Shrutadharh suvarnaprashanad bhavet |"

A properly made suvarnaprashan

Increases intelligence, memory, growth, life energy, power , prevents diseases in a unique manner. It Kindles digestive fire, helps body recover faster, guards from allergies and all this without any side effects.
