उपशाम्य सुखं तिष्ठ स्वात्मन्यानन्दविग्रहे । You are made up of a stuff called bliss. Don't search for bliss here and there. You only have to relax, let go and drop. In the depths of your heart, in the depth of your Self you are bliss.
In the world and in life two types of knowledge are necessary. One is the knowledge that removes the obstruction, and the other is the knowledge that reveals your blissful nature to you. You can always gain the knowledge of the world; of the relative only. You can know of the impermanent at anytime. But you can only feel and experience the permanent, and not know it. You can know the world, but you can only feel God. You can know of that which is changing; all that is relative. But you cannot know God. You can be God. You can merge into God, experience God, but you can never know God. Truth can never be known. 'Untruth' can be known. Truth can be felt and experienced. Permanence can never be known, but it can be felt and experienced. Impermanence can only be known.
You can see that everything is changing in you - your thoughts, your emotions, your life. Everything about you is changing. Your body has undergone so many changes. Your hair has started becoming gray. You can know these changes, but you cannot know the changeless Self, the Being, the 'I', the consciousness. You can experience or 'be' that; because it is not the knowledge, it is the very knower. The 'I' inside you knows that you can feel it, experience it, be that, or merge into it. If this is confusing, just drop it.
Self is not an object of knowledge. Self is the knower. And when can that be known? It can be known when the mind's conflicts and constraints, -the yes and no's, wants, and don't wants - can be dropped and you relax in the depth. This can only happen with maturity. It's like a ripe fruit. It drops easily from the tree. If you just touch it, it comes off - very easily and naturally. When it's not ripe, it still holds very hard to the tree. It takes some time to become ripe and pluckable. So, the Divine will wait. It's all right. It doesn't matter. Take your time, like the papapyas on tree. There are a lot of papayas, but they are still not ripe. We will wait for them to ripen whenever they can.
Dispassion is maturity of life. When you have done something over and over again, you will start wondering. You will wonder what you are craving for, and what you are, really, looking for. Are you craving for people to praise you and tell you that you are great; that you are a beautiful and wonderful person? Are you looking for their words of approval? What are you craving and longing for? What do you expect from all your chit-chat with people? You want them to think you are wonderful, intelligent, great, bright, or beautiful? What is behind all that? Are you doing it unconsciously as a behaviour pattern. I'm not saying you should not be sociable. Everybody has to be sociable, talk to everybody,be happy, but with awareness. Maturity in life brings dispassion. And in dispassion, one sees, 'I am bliss', 'I am made up of bliss'. That is the actual joy that you have been looking for in everything in life. That is what you have been craving for right from childhood.
