Now, wake up and see the same thing is spread all over. Don't limit it only to meditation. Otherwise we'll close our eyes and meditate in wonder and bliss but when it comes to activity, we will be the same, as old as ever. It's of no use. With eyes open, see that you are floating in that non-changing something, that lively consciousness present in every particle of creation. By limiting your experience in meditation to be reality, you are bound again. Seeing that experience as a living reality, even when in our activity, is freedom. The small little things here and there e.g. small little objects, events and instances, words from people, appreciation, blame or insults. Your mind is caught up and it goes on chewing it like chewing gum. Eating chewing gum doesn't give you any nutrition, only your gums and mouth get tired. You get nothing by chewing gum. In the same way, the mind goes on chewing over silly, insignificant things and events. Wake up from such a mind and look at what it is! What is the reality in the universe? Nothing is static and everything is changing. People are changing. All is dissolving; being born and getting dissolved. Drop the small mind. The moment you drop the small mind, you are free. When your mind is hankering or continously planning for the future all the time, it is not joyful. And what if your mind is continuously obsessed with the past? The entire life is a futile exercise to express the inexpressible. Man has been trying for ages to express what he cannot. What will a few words do? It can make a little mark here, scratch a little bit there. Like with a dry stick on a tree (almost dried out and looks very dry). If the gardener wants to check whether there is still life in it, he makes a scratch on the stem, and looks to see if there is still life in it, he makes a scratch on the stem, and looks to see if there is still a little bit of green in it. If there is, it will be seen. Leaves will grow and flowers will bloom. He'll wait just a little bit here and there; can give you a sign that there is life hidden; that there is something more. Life is not all dry; it's not all a waste. So, sitting for a few minutes in satsang transports you somewhere. But much is done in silence. If communication was just on the word level, many questions would come and answers would be given. Many more questions will come, and more answers will be given. It is an endless exercise. If the words touch the intellect, this is what happens. But if the words touch the heart, then there is an exclamation, 'Oh!' This is called recognition; when the words spoken do not make any concept or understanding in the mind, but instead bring recognition deep inside you. When words spoken touch your intellect, it gives you a feeling of knowing it all. It brings pride and in turn, releases too many words in you. You know one sentence, but if you know it through your intellect, you will speak ten sentences for that one sentence i.e. nonstop chattering. But when those words touch your heart, something is kindled; a wave or fountain arises, and then there is no need for any words. Just turn back and remember what was the state of your mind when you did the introductory programme, and what is the state of your mind when you are in a satsang or when you listen to a discourse? Can you turn back and see yourself? Just see yourself. You have come to know something. What was the state of that mind and what is the state of your mind when you are in a satsang? There is a difference, and it is not a small difference!
When you do kriya this will happen. You'll be very relaxed and happy. Your health will be better. Your relationships will be better. Yet people still go on asking questions. What type of questions do they ask? Many times they have their own answers and they only want a verification i.e. to get their answers! This is what people are up to. They are not ready to listen to an answer, but want what is convenient to them to come out of your mouth. Then they feel more confident, because they are not confident about themselves. They want their opinion to be stamped and approved. Most questions that people ask are for approval and not for authenticity, or for a quest. But when these words touch the heart, wonder arises, recognition arises.
