A Disciple asked The Master, "Can you please explain the relationship between the body and the soul?"
The Master smiled and said, "You have come from your Room this morning in a car. Yet you do not say, 'The car came.' You say, 'I have come.' You did not make the mistake of identifying yourself with the car.
In the same manner, we should look upon our body as you have done with the car. This body is a transit mode given to The Soul. The Soul will stay in the body till it's stipulated. So, we need to treat the body well, then it will be a good servant and instrument. But we should not be deceived into thinking it is the body is the master. If we do so, then our mind shall take us deep into The Cycle of Birth and Death. As deep as we get stuck in the mud, it will become so much difficult for us to come out of it. We will move away from The Lord.
We need to understand, that The Soul is The Lord's particle. It is omnipresent and Eternal. It does not have birth or death. It just moves one worldly object to another, depending on the intensity of Its Remembrance of The Lord. If the track of Aatma's journey is oriented towards The Lord, then it shall be blessed with life in human body. It is only in a human body, The Soul can do Bhakti and Unite with The Lord.
In all other objects, it works towards Realising the object of getting a human life, in which it can seek Moksha. For example, the birth in the form of Cow is considered very Holy and is believed to be one step away from the human birth. They are calm, soft, peace loving animals, the very traits which are achieved by a Meditator.
When, we understand, that The Soul is the truth, we will neither feel the sorrow, nor the troubles. It is possible once we Unite our Soul with The Lord.”
The Disciple then asked, “What are the hindrances to the realisation of the true Self?”
The Master said, “It is our Memory, chiefly habits of thoughts, our accumulated tendencies which become hindrance to The Realisation of our True Self. The Lord's Will is that we Live in the present. Relish the present. But our natural tendency has become to think about past and worry about future."
The Disciple further enquired, “How does one get rid of these hindrances,”
The Master's answered, "We can do it only by Seeking to Realise our Soul through Naama Bhakti and tracing every thought arising back to its origin. The thoughts emanate from the mind. We should not allow the thought to run on. If we do, it will be unending. We need to take it back to the starting place – the mind – again and again. It is only then the thought and the mind will both die of inaction. The mind only exists because of the thoughts. Once we Stop the thoughts, there will be no mind.
Once we reach the state where mind is thoughtless, only the source of all shall remain, that is, The Soul. We need to Live always in the present; there is no past or future, except for in the mind.”
The Master further continued, "We need to Meditate on what we are in Reality. We need to realise that we are not the body, emotions or intellect.
Once we Realise we are The Soul, we live in continuous bliss and joyous. We shall live happily, and be untroubled by events taking place around us. It is Not that the sorrows of the world will leave us untouched, but we will know where they belonged and not identify with them.
So, the best medicine is Naama Bhakti. The Naama given by The Master at the time of Initiation is spiritually encompassing. It is this Naama which dwells in our heart. Once we Realise it, the mind and its worldly thoughts shall vanish."
We are lucky to have The Master in our life. The Master has blessed us with His Naama. He has given us The Naama, that which enables us to enhance our Spiritual energy and Live in The Remembrance of The Lord. All we need to do is Live in The Master's Will and Surrender to The Naama.
Let us do Naama Bhakti as much as possible. It is The Naama Bhakti which shall please The Master. It is By The Master's Grace, we can conquer the mind and Live in The Remembrance of The Lord. This is the easiest Path that can take us to The Lord's abode. Naama, Naama and Naama, let us start now.
