*Chapter 3 - Self Discovery*
*Day 11*
The Truth, Knowledge, and Infinity is what Divinity is. Satyam is Truth, Gnanam is Knowledge, divinity and Infinity is Brahman. If you put a paper in a fax machine and you press a button here that print gets electronically transported.
You can get it, for example in China. What happened to the information that you inserted here and released into the cosmos? That same information thousands of miles away gets printed exactly the same way.
How is it possible? Have you ever thought about it? In a cell phone, if you say something, those words go into it and then go into space and gets reproduced somewhere in another place in exactly same way.
So, where is this information carried in between these two cells phones? Have you ever thought about it? This information is intact with practically no lapse of time - there is a little time gap there and it gets on to the other side?
Then, the medium in which this knowledge is flowing is filled with information. That is Brahman. We are floating in an ocean of prana. Our body is like a shell in the water and the water is prana.
The prana is not in the body, our body is in the prana like the fish is not in the little body it is in water. The moment you take fish out of water there is no life. Is the life of the fish in the body or in the water?
Think about it. I don't want any ready made answers or ready made concepts. Upanishad doesn't give you a concept. It just scratches your brain a little bit.
The rusted brain gets a little scratched. Come on now think, discover. The whole Knowledge is about discovering. It is a trip of self discovery and finding out.
When you find out then you come to a space of "Wow". Anything that you have discovered within yourself with a "Wow" nobody can take it away from you, erase it, or eradicate it.
If it is someone else's knowledge, you just take the concept in the mind and keep doubting it. But do you ever doubt your own experience?
If you have pain in your leg, do you doubt it thinking, "Did I really have a pain yesterday?" No. If someone says to you," Oh you are so good," then you doubt, "Am I really good? Because somebody told me I am beautiful, I don't think so."
It is so ironic that we keep expecting others to tell us that we are good, we are beautiful, we are loving, we are lovely. We don't even have that. Knowledge that whatever the Brahman has created is always beautiful and has a purpose.
God is not somebody who is sitting up in heaven, trying to point a finger at you and running away when you try to catch him. No, the entire universe is filled with it.
How the universe is made is like how the spider makes a Web. A spider weaves its web not out of external material but from its own saliva. In the same way the creation is created by the creator by its own self.
He is the material cause of creation. You know there is a material cause - for example if I want to make a pot, I take some clay which is not me. I am the Potter, I have clay and I create a pot.
If that were the case then God would loose his qualification of being omnipresent. What is the qualification of God in all the scriptures of the world?
God is omnipresent, which means present everywhere, omnipotent - all powerful, and omniscient - all knowing. So how can omnipresent God have clay which is separate from him, if he is only a potter?
The clay and the potter must be of the same material, like the spider and the cobweb. The entire creation is permeated by a substance that is Divinity. That is Brahman.
Your cells are made up of it, not only you but your enemies too. Everybody and everything is made up of it. How do you know this? How do you recognise it and how do you feel it?
It says you take the first step. First is : "What"? The astonishing question. "What?" What happens when you ask, "What?" Everything comes to standstill and a new awareness begins.
The race outside stops. When you are driving in the fourth gear and if you have to go in reverse, you can't just go from fourth to reverse. You have to slow down a little bit, first you have to come to neutral, and then you reverse the car.
