There is a story about Narada. He was once walking on the earth somewhere in a mountainous area. He saw a young boy meditating, praying and dancing, and he saw an old man also sitting and meditating. He went to the old man and told him that he was going to heaven, to God. Did he have any questions for Him? The old man said that he wanted to know when God was going to liberate him. For how many more days, months or years would have to do all the practices? Narada agreed to do so. Then he went to the body. The body did not even notice Narada since he was dancing in ecstasy and joyfully meditating. But when Narada insisted and asked several times if he had any questions, and if he should ask when the boy would realize God, the boy agreed. After a couple of days, Narada came back. The old man has been anxiously looking for Narada. When he saw him, he asked Narada if he had put his question to God. And what He has said. Narada replied that he has got information from God. He would have to do the practices for three more lifetimes. The old man became so furious! He threw out all his malas, tore the ropes and kicked his own asana and got up. He said enough was enough. That he was fed up with it all. He had done so much meditation and this was the result! He would do no more. He would go on a holiday and enjoy himself! He had enough of a that (tapas). He would go to a bar and.....!
His anger really frightened Narada. There were rocks all around and he wondered if the old man would throw rocks at him. So, Narada quietly left the place. He went to the youth and said that he was a little scared to tell him his because that old man has got so angry. And the boy was stronger person. If he did something to Narada, what would happen to him? But anyway, he had asked the question and has brought the answer for him. That he has to deliver it, whether he wanted it or not. But the young man said he would like to hear the God's answer. Narada said that God had said that he would get enlightened after living as many lives as there are leaves on a nearby tree.
The youth became so happy that he started dancing and singing even more. He said it was wonderful. It was just that one tree and there were ever millions of trees on the planet. If he was going to get enlightened after living as many lives as the number of leaves in that one tree, he had done it! It had happened! The boy thanked Narada and told him that he had brought him such wonderful news. He became happier and started dancing. It is said that he became enlightened at that very moment.
विज्वरो भव ॥ Patience comes when we are devoid of feverishness. Impatience means feverishness. However, you can show impatience because, sometimes, when you are very patient, things go very slowly. People take you for gratned. In such situations impatience can be displayed. However, there's no need to be impatient yourself. Let not the feverishness in the world catch onto you for nay reason. It's not worth it.
