There is a sutra in the Patanjali Yoga Sutras where Patanjali says to meditate on the Realised One; on the Master. This means, when you meditate on the Realised One, a change beings to happen in your own body physiology. Check your pulse, and then think about somebody who is very lustful, or very jealous, or extremely agitated. That very thought creates a sort of chemical reaction in your body and the whole system and the vibration change.
Even the body, which we think is very solid, is not so! It is changing on a regular basis. Blood changes every twenty-four hours. In three months the bone marrow changes. The skin changes every seven days or less. Similarly, all the fluids in the body change. You are not the same person within three months. That means this body is like a river. Nothing is constant in it.
So when changes take place, gunas dominate. Sometimes one guna dominates and at other times another. Sometimes one dosha is more and sometimes another. We don't need to get worked up about these changes. This is body's nature. Nothing can remain the same in the physical world.
You sometimes wonder how people who had a particular serious illness got well. You think that being healed from diseases is a big thing. Every day I get three or four letters dealing with health problems. After writing to me, the concerned person feels completely well. And then they tell somebody else about it. And it snowballs. People make a big deal about it all. However, it is nothing! Is it a very big task for the consciousness (which makes everything, which is the basis of this existence) to repair a bit here and there? Is it a big deal for that power which created flower, to ensure that the leaves grow again? Healing is nothing! We think it is a big deal; that a big thing has happened. We don't need to place so much value on it.
We should wonder about the creation. The consciousness itself is enough to be wondered about! स्वभावादिति निश्चयी । This is all in the nature. One gets sick, and then gets well again. Some food, situation, karma, or vibration get mixed up and there is an illness. There's health, then illness, then health again. We don't need to be bothered too much about this cycle! It should be considered on the level of the body. Do not allow this to penetrate deeper in you. Inside all this is consciousness - pure consciousness, Shiva; call it whatever you like. Om, Infinity.
