अन्तर्गलितसर्वाशः शान्तः क्वापि न सज्जते । अन्तर्गलित - means inside. There are two types of desire. One is a surface desire which is essential for any activity. There is a desire to drink water and you do so. You want to go to sleep and you sleep. You can call it an intention. All your actions are prompted or instigated by your intentions.
But there is another desire which is very deep within you. This is called a craving. A craving is like a whirlwind, creating anger, restlessness, depression or distress in you. That anger which has penetrated deep inside. अन्तर्गलितसर्वाशः । Desires which are deeply rooted in you should melt away. If they remain intact they bother you. It is like a block of ice; it irritates you.
अन्तर्गलितसर्वाशः शान्तः क्वापि न सज्जते । So you can really have internal peace when you know that you have already achieved what you should achieve; and whatever you need, will be given to you. When this trust has dawned - you will be given whatever should be given to you. You will have whatever you're supposed to have.
Ashaha means that the desire in you has dissolved. He doesn't say you should not desire at all. But your desire is like a stone when you think it is bigger than your ability. You may think that your ability is limited, and that your desire is bigger than your ability. You may think that you can only do a particular job, but your desire is to do that much. Your desires become hard like stone. When you know your desire is smaller than your ability or your capacity to desire and deserve, then that desire is no longer there like a rock irritating you. In the same way that sand in your eye irritates you and blurs your vision, your desire irritates you and does not allow you to be in love. It blocks your love. It blocks your peace. It blocks your joy.
अन्तर्गलितसर्वाशः । These words are pregnant with meaning. They have much depth. Antar means inside and galita means dissolved. All the desires inside you has melted away in the depth of your heart. What is desire? Desire is the beat of a heart; of your heart. You want and want. People say they dissolve in the linga; or disappear into Shiva. You will dissolve into whatever you think about. If you think of a currency note, you will dissolve into a currency note. If you think of a factory all the time, you will dissolve into your factory. If you're thinking of money, business and transaction, you'll dissolve into that. If you think of the Divinity, you'll dissolve into the Divinity. This is because there is no way you cannot get what you want. You will have to get it, whether now or later, maybe with a time gap of maybe several lifetimes. It doesn't matter.
अन्तर्गलितसर्वाशः । When all the desires inside you become fluid, when you know you have much more capacity, when you know you are much more than your desires and that your desires are very insignificant then you will repose in peace in your heart. Suppose you have a desire to eat ice cream. You don't lose your sleep thinking about eating ice cream! If it happens, good. If it doesn't happen, it doesn't matter! So what? In the same way, let desires be light. Let them not be like blocks of ice in your depths. शान्तः क्वापि न सज्जते । Then you will repose in the peace in your heart!
