If YOU HAVE WHAT YOU WANTED, THEN ARE YOU HAPPY?

Vitrushnasya vashikara Sanjna vairagyam

The running mind is an obstruction. An expectation in meditation is an obstruction. You have heard the experience of someone who has said that light appears, that someone comes from heaven and takes you by the hand and that you see him with your eyes closed. All these ideas are the construction of fantasy.

Your desire for pleasure or happiness makes you unhappy. You investigate every time you are unhappy or suffer, behind that is your desire to be happy. You got it? Anxiety for happiness brings suffering. If you don't even crave happiness, then you are happy. You crave happiness and invite suffering. When you don't care about happiness, you are liberated and when you don't even care about liberation, you achieve love. The first step is when you don't care about happiness. The second step is param vairagya (supreme dispassion). When you don't even care about liberation, then you are free. You are liberated.

If you have what you wanted, then are you happy?

Happiness is just a simple idea in the mind. You think that if you have this you are happy. If you have what you wanted, then are you happy? Vairagya is putting an end to the craving for happiness.

This does not mean that you should suffer. It's not about that. This does not mean that you should not enjoy, but (get rid of) the desire for happiness, only when you recover your mind from that anxiety, only then can you meditate. Then yoga happens.

Break your dreams and fantasies. Offer them all to the fire. Burn them. How big is the happiness you want to have? How long can you have it? You will die. Everything is going to end. Before the earth eats you, be free.

Free yourself from that feverish state that is taking over your mind.

Free yourself from this anxiety of happiness.

Look at all the cravings you have and remember that you are going to die. Your desires for sweets, sugar, food. Ask yourself if you want to keep eating them. Okay, eat for as long as you want. Realize this consciously, what can you do? Nothing. What more can you wish for? Beautiful views? Keep looking at that beautiful landscape. How long can you keep looking?

Sex. How much sex do you have? Then you will see that there is nothing in it. How long? A few moments later, the body looks like Styrofoam, which was so attractive before.

What other thing? All these substances that you see have limitations, but your mind is not prepared for the limitations. He wants pleasure without limits, what the five senses cannot give you. It is impossible. You just burn over and over again.

Skillfully handling the objects of the senses and bringing them to the Self is dispassion or Vairagya.

YOGA SUTRAS DE PATANJALI - FICHA DE CONOCIMIENTOS 10

SI TIENE LO QUE QUERÍA, ENTONCES ES FELIZ?

  Vitrushnasya vashikara Sanjna vairagyam
