SWASTHA AND AATUR DONO KE LIYE HETU, LINGA KA GYAANA JARURI HAI. This is the start of becoming a perfect physician which has two functions -- to help his clients remain healthy and to treat his patients when they have a disease.
The SAAR of AYURVEDA which has been described to the BHARDWAJ has been said here as it is. This knowledge includes all HETU, LINGA and AUSHADHA details which explain the AYURVEDA. Here HETU includes both types of causes SANNIKRISHTA and VIPRAKRISHTA both, the LINGA word here means the symptoms both of the disease as well as the health and in this way the word LINGA has been said both for the disease as well as for the health. As it has been said in the example – VISHAM AARAMBHA MOOLANAAMA EKO JWAR HI LAKSHANAM i.e. JWARA is one symptom of all the disease which are having the character of VISHAMA AARAMBHA MOOLAANAAM, or in NIDAANA STHAAN 8 it has been said that all diseases which are VISHAM AARAMBH MOOLANAAMA has one symptom i.e. JWARA. Here AUSHADHA means all types of PATHYA for the body. SHARIR word is self-explanatory here in the context of HETU LINGA AND AUSHADH.
SWASTHA AATUR PARAAYANAMA here means that which is good for the diseases as well as for the healthy. Is this different from the one as described by BRAHMA in the form of HETU, LINGA, AUSHADHA has been described by the SUTRA – TRISUTRAM ITIYAADI.
This knowledge has been known by the PITAAMAHA and has been given by BRAHMA to INDRA which is in TRISUTRA form. TRISUTRA is that in which three things HETU, LINGA and AUSHADHA have been described.
It has been said as SUTRA ROOP because all topics have been texted in the short form. So this AYURVEDA as it was discovered by the BRAHMA the same has been preached by the INDRA to the BHARDWAJ. BUBUDHA means to get and not to discover. It has been called as SHASHWAT which means it is NITYA and this topic will be described at the end of the SUTRA STHAANA.
