Day 54
Whichever way you started either satvik, rajsik or tamsik, or the three types of love affection or love or respect, in whichever form you take it, go beyond it, transcend it. Nitya dasya - You are forever, you are an eternal servant, have that feeling, “I am an eternal servant of you”. I am an eternal partner of you.
That is the only thing worth doing. Even as an action, you have to do something, nothing other than just being in love. Dasya and kanta - There are two major way of expressing the love. One is, “I am your obedient servant. I am the servant of the Lord. I am the servant of the Divine.”
But you know, in being in the Master and servant relationship, there is a little gap. There could be some hesitation, there is not that 100% closeness. So they added, immediately your beloved. Both these forms of expression are not complete and they will be more complete when they are together. If someone is just your beloved, then there is always a demand on you, a demand arising in your mind.
There is a chance of losing respect. Although you love them, but you demand from them, you teach them, you tell them what they should be doing. But when you are a servant, a servant never tells a Master what he should be doing. The servant and Master's relationship has a different flavour. Sometimes this, sometimes that it gives a flavour in your life that is simply superb, that is beyond your wildest imagination.
Such completeness. That of a beloved and that of a servant. A servant is not a slave you know, but he does not communicate on all levels. A beloved is one who communicates on all levels. So beloved and servant, respect and love grow together.
The love in the form of love passion in the case of beloved, and respect in the case of Master and servant brings a completeness. And such love alone is worth having, worth expressing in life. These are the things to be done, but what is the nature of such a devotee? God is everywhere. And what is everywhere has no value. It is commonly available everywhere. Air is available everywhere. Like air, God is everywhere.
But gold is available only in gold mines, so gold has more value. In the same way, God is everywhere, but devotees are not everywhere. So devotees are more valuable than God, himself. They are more precious because this is what you cannot get. Sun is available everywhere, but diamonds are not.
It is the diamond which can reflect the sun. It can shine in the sun, which can absorb the sun rays, which can reflect the sun rays totally. The one pointedness of a devotee cannot be distracted by anybody, anything. Nothing can allure him to drop the highest, nothing can shake him, nothing can move him.
A devotee has such one pointedness. And what do devotees do? When devotees get together and talk, speak about the Divine, their throats choke, their hair stands up, tears roll down their eyes. They only uplift each other. They talk about how much they miss the Divine and how much they love the Divine. This is all that they talk. They uplift each other, they cry with each other, they talk with each other.
They don't complain, there is no inquisitiveness, there is no gossiping. What is there is the earnest willingness to share the love of the Divine, the earnest desire to share the joy and the love of the Divine. They cry and cry. Such devotees purify their entire family for generations of their family. Their entire system gets transformed.
