TINA WELLINGTON, a senior executive in the hospitality industry says, "My Guru is beyond Space and Time". Read how a devout Zoroastrian experienced the Master’s grace.
A Zoroastrian by faith, worshiper of fire, no idol worship and certainly no worship of a living entity were my formative years. Respect all and live life as per our 3 tenets. Good Thoughts, Good Words and Good Deeds were values inculcated by my mother. How could one then believe in a ‘living’ being in a white attire and long flowing hair as your spiritual Master!
As they say, the Master ‘finds you’ and it’s not you that finds a Master. Well, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar ‘chose’ my beautiful daughter Sanaya and me during an interaction at an event in Mumbai.
Some years later In 2013, Sanaya and I travelled to Bali with Gurudev. One day, as we were sitting on the beautiful Bali beach, HE looks at Sanaya and says “Abhi uski shaadi kara do. (Get your daughter married now.) I told him, ‘’Gurudev I have no family - no siblings, I am a single mother and my mom is also no more- Aaap ladka dhundo please. (Please find a boy for her.) HE smiled, twirled his fingers, looked up towards the sky at a small aircraft flying by; and winked with his twinkling eyes. I wondered what HE meant with this gesture.
Later, we left for our hotel which was close by. As I was entering the vehicle, the chauffeur hurriedly attempted to close the door and my hand got jammed in the door.
What followed was excruciating pain in my hand and I felt dizzy. Shaken up, I rushed to my room with tears streaming down my face, oblivious of the voices of fellow devotees offering to help. I ran to the bathroom and held my hand in running water hoping to get some relief. My fingers were stiff and numb with pain and I could barely think straight. I stood there crying helplessly.
And then it slowly dawned on me that the pain had started reducing. I could sense flexibility in my immobile stiff fingers bit by bit. This was nothing short of a miracle. The heavy door of a vehicle had almost crushed my tiny fingers and could no way go unscathed, without multiple fractures. In bed at night, I kept staring in awe at my hand. Not even a painkiller, spray nor a tablet needed - I realised this was the Grace of the Master. A deep sense of gratitude to HIM arose.
More Grace to flow, in 2014, Gurudev found a partner for Sanaya who is happily married for over five years. HIS looking up at the sky smiling at the aircraft in the Bali skies had a deeper meaning - Sanaya’s spouse is a pilot!
The jigsaw maze of our small mind is taken care of by our loving Guru when we surrender to Him and live our lives with 'purity in heart, clarity in mind and sincerity in deeds'. His Grace and love is beyond space and time.
