*Chapter 5 - The Fourth Dimension*
*Day 22*
Let us expand our capability. If you want to enjoy a lot of sweets, but you have diabetes you cannot do it. You should have the capability to digest it. If you demand respect you should have the capability to have it.
So our capability of experiencing the world is very limited and the ability of the senses is not unlimited. It has a limit but the desire is unlimited.
That is where imbalance happens, because we have not moved away from the objects of the senses to the senses. The first step is to come to our senses.
Once you have come to your senses, now you move further one step behind looking into the intellect. After the senses it is intellect, which boosts its ego, saying," I know it". If you think you know it the Rishi smiles and says no you don't know.
At the same, when you say I don't know, he says," Come on at some level you know it". Even if you think you don't know you can't be away from it. You are in it.
A fish in the water cannot say "I don't know water". It cannot exist without water. How can a fish say "I don't know water? Yet the fish may not have realised it or felt the water.
Like, we are in air breathing day and night, but we never experience the breath. When we consciously take the breath that is when we experience it.
Similarly a conscious mind may not know it, but our subconscious mind knows it my dear. Suppose you all are asleep and if one person's name is called out, say "Chris".
Now though everyone has heard this word "Chris" in the same magnitude, but it's Chris who will say "yes"?" "What"? The others will be having sound sleep. The intellect is not functioning at that time.
We are asleep but in the sleep also if I say" Lucas" then Gary will not respond to me. Only Lucas will say "yes". There is a level inside you that knows it.
So, I don't think so you never know or don't know it. You know it yet you don't know it and if you ascertain you know it so well, then he says no. There is a level deep inside you which is connected with the unknowable.
The unknowable remains unknowable so there is an aspect inside you that says, "I don't know". That's beautiful, I don't know. That I don't know is the home of all possibilities. Anything is possible.
Every moment there is something new happening. If you know all that is going to happen and all that was in the past, then it has already happened. It is all dead. Everything is dead.
There is no life needed. It is mechanical. We usually think God should be some kind of a mechanical device. So he knows past, present and future. Everything is already finished and there is no chance for any new creation at any new moment.
The Rishi says, "No". He says 'Sadyojata', a beautiful word. It is the most magnificent word I have ever heard. 'Sadyojata' means created every moment anew and knowing every moment anew.
This may go a little above the head, because we are used to a certain dimension. We know things the way they are, they are done and they are to be done or being done. This is all we know because we understand speak live in this realm of time of past present and future.
The fourth dimension of time is not comprehensible through the mind. Scientists are today talking about the string theory and about the dimension of time. You know when you hear today's science, the quantum physics, quantum mechanics, string theory and black hole theory, you are simply astonished.
You feel that they are speaking the Upanisads in some way. It is strikingly similar. There are no two opinions on it. If someone has read the Upanisad, then hears what the scientists have to say today, the fourth dimensions then you say wow.
So even those people long ago must have known these things. And these people they don't know there is something more.
