In Maharashtra it is called Aptaa , Kanchan.
On Vijayadashmi that is Dussehra festival his leaves are distributed as a Gold.
Kanchanara (Bauhinia variegata) is a tree found commonly in Indian subcontinent. Two more varities of Kanchanara are also available. 
Kanchanar tree is useful in medicinal and some other purposes too. 
This wonderful herb has a property of removing extra growths inside the body like fibroids, lipoma, cysts, tumors. 
Therefore it is used in treating goitre, polycyctic ovaries, lymphadentitis (swelling of ypmh nodes), benign and malignant cancer, obesity, thyroid disorders.
Kanchanar  leaves can cure digestive issues such as diarrhea and are very useful in treating the first stage of cancer, leukoderma , leprosy, muscle tremors and even piles. Leaves are also used to treat liver disorders.
Young leaves are made into delicious chutney. 
Leaves are also used as fodder for goat, sheep and other cattle. The seeds are an important part of elephant’s diet.
The inner bark is used to make ropes which are used for purposes like tying cows. Wood is hard and useful for fuel.
Kanchanara herb is used both as an internal medication & externally to treat wounds.

Family : Caesalpiniaceae.

Hindi : Kanchanar.
Marathi: Aptaa. Kanchan

The bark of the Kanchanar tree (Bauhinia variegata) is widely used in Ayurveda for its astringent & healing properties.
 It is most famously used in Kanchanar guggulu.
Kanchanara Guggulu is a Guggulu based tablet preparation is a herbal Ayurvedic Medicine used in treatment of cysts, certain types of tumours, goitre, menstrual disorders, wound healing & in various skin disease .
 Kanchnar guugulu  is the one of the best ayurvedic herbal medicine.
Kanchanara Guggulu an ayurvedic preparation is also very  effective to treat the thyroid disorders, glandular swelling, uterine polyp, lymph nodes swellings, leprosy, fistula and other abnormal growth in the body.
